Fantastic experience: What a great experience! Tyson and Mike were entertaining and knowledgeable, and we had a terrific experience, showing us how to do the ice fishing, cooking up the fish we caught right there in the cabin and sharing stories of Alaska hunting and fishing. A great time (and a great view of the Aurora, to boot!)

Fantastic experience: Tyson was an excellent Guide, he was very knowledgeable of the fish We caught. The first thing he did was teach us how to ice fish and taught us what fish we could possibly catch and then he cooked it right in front of us for dinner and it was absolutely delicious. And the dessert was that we got to see the northern lights in the background. We could not have asked for a better guide for the evening.

Fantastic experience: Very nice experience on ice fishing. Me and my friend had 0 experience fishing, we still got six fish in first hour. The fish is good, but they have fish limitation so you can’t have as many fish as you want. The guide will track the aurora when you fishing, and record the whole movement as video for you. Very recommend

Fantastic experience: We have a super impressive experience in the trip. Ice fishing is interesting. The trip includes dinner of salmon which tastes good! We are really lucky to see the beautiful aurora light clearly. The fishing room is warm to stay during fishing.

Fantastic experience: We decided last minute to book the Aurora Ice Fishing & Dinner tour on our week long trip to Fairbanks and WOW it did not disappoint. A great first night to start off our trip. Tyson did an unbelievable job! He was so kind and friendly and very knowledgeable. He took some awesome photos of us when the lights were active and even surprised us with a Timelapse. I would highly recommend this tour and you’re going to have an excellent time if Tyson is your guide!

Fantastic experience: This adventure with Tyson was the highlight of our trip! We went ice catching and caught over 40 fish between the 6 of us! Tyson prepared a delicious meal of fresh fish, salad and potatoes right in the hut. We saw a bright and gorgeous display of northern lights to top off the night. Tyson was a lot of fun to spend the evening with and we thoroughly enjoyed his company.

Fantastic experience: We went on the 9pm to 2am ice fishing and Aurora viewing trip. Tyson was our guide and he did a terrific job at keeping bait on all of the hooks and helping teach the kids how to catch fish. He also fixed us a terrific plate of fresh fish, potatoes, and salad. He also made us coffee and hot chocolate. We caught close to 80 fish between 4 adults and 2 small children which I believe was above average so definitely don’t expect that as normal, but it can happen. The Aurora forecast was not good for the night we went, but it was clear so we kept checking outside and we got a few wonderful shows with a break in between. If the skies are going to be clear I would say take a chance no matter what the websites say about the aurora. The fishing shack is heated and not far from the boat dock so it’s only a short walk to the parking and bathrooms as well if that’s important to you. I highly recommend this trip, it’s worth it and was the highlight of our trip to Fairbanks. Just ask for Tyson and you will know you have a great guide. Also just FYI it is around 40 minutes from Fairbanks to the parking lot for the fishing shack.

Fantastic experience: I had a really great time! I got to meet all the dogs and help get them prepped for the ride. The route was really secluded and beautiful. The guides told me a lot of information about dog sledding and the lifestyle the dogs live at the property.

Fantastic experience: There was 4 of us, all from California with no “cold blooded” experiences whatsoever, but that did not stop us from trying to adventure into the -1 degree weather. Tyson helped us navigate the task of ice fishing. He was a delight and was a great first experience. We caught 50 fish in 3 hours. He even cooked up all of it and made a meal, which was delicious. No negative thoughts or opinions with Tyson. He had a lot of patience, which he needed considering our San Diego genes. We will definitely return and hopefully get the same luck.

Fantastic experience: Kyle and I booked an ice fishing trip and had Tyson as our Guide, he was excellent from the start to end he took great care of us! He made sure to explain everything, answer any questions, and even cooked our catch for us! He put us right on a spot and we caught plenty! To top it off he was an excellent conversationalist and cook as well as watched for the Aurora Borealis and helped us to fulfill our wish of seeing it in all its beauty! Fantastic experience: Tyson was an awesome guide, who showed us the ins and outs of ice fishing. We were super fortunate to go out on the lake on a day with excellent conditions for fishing. So much so, that we could see the fish biting on the bait and swimming by through the hole we bore in the ice. We caught a bunch of baby salmons and grilled some up for a nice little afternoon snack. Fantastic experience: My fiance and I booked the Delta Clearwater Arctic grayling fly fishing... and it did not disappoint! Tyson was a fantastic guide and had us on fish all day. It started a little slow due to the cold temps and we landed a few fish while nymphing, but once the hatch started... it was game on!!! We landed plenty of fish that day and actually lost count. Emily and I had multiple "doubles" on and kept Tyson on his toes! Had a couple of fish that we never got our eyes on... but I pretty sure they were wall hangers (I will stand by my claim to hooking the new state record, wink) If you have never fished for Arctic grayling, this is a "must do" bucket list! Absolutely gorgeous fish on crystal clear waters... Tight lines! P.S. We also got to see some beautiful Coho salmon swimming around showing their spawning colors (no fishing for Cohos this year, hopefully next time). Thanks again Tyson!

Fantastic experience: We got Tyson as our fishing guide and he was very knowledgeable, open to any questions/concerns, and very enthusiastic throughout the whole trip! The man was very helpful in helping the group untangle, handle our catches, and educate us about the areas we were fishing and around Fairbanks! Definitely looking at booking another trip with AK river tours, and hopefully we get Tyson as our guide too!

Fantastic experience: Using AK River Tours for fishing is a must. Tyson knew the River very well. He has great people skills and makes sure you have fun. He wants you to catch fish, lots of fish. He allowed my son to stir the raft. When we come out again, we will definitely use them again. The other two guys, sorry forgot their names, were very nice as well.

Fantastic experience: Spent the day fly fishing on the Delta Clear Water for Arctic Grayling. The drive was aprox 2 hours from Fairbanks but worth every minute. My friend and I both had expectations exceeded with the guide and experience. We would definitely go back.

I would definitely stay there again the next time I am visiting Fairbanks. Fantastic experience: We had two great days with Tyson who took us through the Chena River for fishing and then Trenton who showed us the wildlife. With their knowledge about the fish and Alaska wilderness, Tyson and Trenton delivered the ultimate Alaska experience!

Fantastic experience: Went Grayling fishing one day with Greg and Pike fishing the next day with Tyson. Both guides were excellent and did their best to get into some good fishing spots. They kept a good attitude through some bad weather and we ended up catching a lot of fish.

Fantastic experience: We went on two different fishing trips with this company and both were outstanding. The fishing was solid and the expert guides made the river adventure memorable. It was great fun and a return trip is a must.

Fantastic experience: Phenomenal fishing mostly due to the guide, Tyson. On point, very matter-of-fact, real pro. He knows the spots and has the right gear. At some locations every other cast ended up with a catch. I fished for pike before, but never had I so much fun. Was able to learn a lot about Alaska from Tyson, as it was my first time there and I had lots of questions. Will be back next year! As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words. Fantastic experience: This was a great trip. Benny arrived early for pickup and was very enjoyable guide and driver. Honestly one of the nicest most adventurous person I have met in a long time. Greg was our river guide. I was able to catch fish and he took great care in the handling of the fish. He is also very knowledgeable about Fairbanks Highly recommend this trip.

Negative experience: My husband and I paid $315.88 for a river float that was supposed to begin at 9:00 and end at 2:00. I have the emails to prove this. Our guide, Alberto, was on time, and he was very nice and knowledgeable. So, no complaints there. However, our trip was over by 11:30, and this included a stop to walk around. Bottom line: I paid for a 5 hour trip and barely received half of it. A partial refund seems only fair since we did not receive what we purchased in good faith. I am very disappointed. Our trip was today, July 22nd (2024), on the China River near the Compeau Trail.

Positive experience: My son and I recently went on a half-day fishing trip with Alaska Fishing and Rafting Adventures, and it was a fantastic experience! Our guides, a knowledgeable and friendly father-son duo, did everything possible to ensure we had a memorable outing on the beautiful Chena River.Despite catching only one fish, it was clear that our lack of catch was not due to their efforts. Fantastic experience: Alaska Fishing and Raft Adventures is worth every penny. Our guide Tyson was not only knowledgeable of the river and the current fishing conditions, he was also very personable. If you goal is to just catch fish, book with AF&RA. If your goal is to catch fish and get a scenic experience of the Alaskan interior, book with AF&RA. We booked an 8 hour float and fish trip that yielded multiple good memories and fish catches that will have us counting down the days until next year when we book with them again.

Fantastic experience: We booked a dog sledding tour and it was a wonderful experience. The GoldStream Huskys were the only sledding company still running in mid April and they were great. The mushers were very knowledgeable and spent time talking with us and educating us about the dogs and sledding. The run was beautiful and it was a very fun experience for our family.

Fantastic experience: My adult son and I enjoyed a great evening of ice fishing and watching for the Northern lights on 3/23/24. The dinner our guide prepared was wonderful. We were lucky enough to share our cabin with another fun family and had lots of laughs. We had a truly memorable experience. Even though we didn't catch any larger fish and it was a cloudy evening, it was still great. You can't control Mother Nature, but you can control where you book your adventure.

Tyson was an excellent and knowledgeable guide that walked us through all of the steps involved in catching the fish. My friend caught 5 fish and the rest of us caught one each. Tyson was an amazing cook too and prepared a delicious dinner using the salmon and rainbow trout that we caught. And then our evening was highlighted by excellent views of the Northern Lights. Tyson was so helpful in telling us when to step out of our warm and cozy ice fishing cabin in order to take pictures of the sky. And wow, we got some breathtaking photos. In fact, we took so many memorable pictures that we will cherish and constantly relive the happiness that we felt tonight after joining the ice fishing and dinner tour. Fantastic experience: Ice fishing had come highly recommended to my friend and I, we've never fished before so had very low expectations, but can honestly say it was one of the highlights of our trip! Tyson was fantastic from start to finish, it was just so much fun and we managed to catch 10 fish between us! Can't recommend this enough -10/10 We also did the VIP dog sledding with Greg, this had been top of our list when planning our trip to Alaska and it definitely did not disappoint, incredible experience

Fantastic experience: Fun ice fishing night on Chena Lake with Tyson. Fishing cabin was toasty warm. Tyson got us set up with equipment and demonstrated the technique. His demonstration netted a fish so we thought “that looks easy”. As it turned out, Tyson must have a personal connection with those fish! One other keeper was caught, and many little ones had to be returned to the cold dark waters from whence they came. Tyson kept our hooks baited and kept an eye on the sky and alerted us when the aurora was visible. Tyson cooked up store bought salmon and the two fresh catches, with salad and potatoes. We really enjoyed his personality, fishing and hunting tales, and his cooking skills. We would have like to have caught more and bigger fish. Not sure if our small luck was due to night, temperatures, or location, but Tyson made it fun nevertheless.

We successfully caught fish over eight times, humorously noting that some may have been the same ones recaptured. There is a warm cabin on the lake to experience ice fishing. Tyson’s professional guide will teach you how to fish on the ice. When we waiting for the fish to take the bait in the dark night. Surprises! The sudden flash and dance of the Aurora. What's even better is that Tyson's five-star cuisine is on site, so you can enjoy the freshest and most delicious salmon dinner. Fantastic experience: Our family enjoyed the 9pm-2am ice fishing adventure. Greg was an amazing host - knowledgeable, helpful and a great cook! Our group caught enough fish for everyone to try fresh fish and there was a backup plan should we not catch enough. The only downside is staying up so late to see the Arora which didn’t show due to cloud cover. Our 16-year-old even enjoyed it. Definitely recommend!

Fantastic experience: Definitely an amazing winter ice fishing and cooking experience. Fishing on a freezing lake in a cabin with firewoods and amazing view. Our guide Tyson was really knowledgeable and helpful. I caught my very first salmon and he helped us cook it, so fresh and delicious! Gonna recommend to my friends. Give it a five star

Fantastic experience: I visited the place with my mother and sister and we just had the most amazing time. We stayed there 10 days with the crew in the hut and got to experience dog sledding every day. The crew was really lovely and taught us everything they could about the dogs. How to read the emotions and how the dogs tell you, how they feel. All in all I had a wonderful holiday in the most amazing winter wonderland. Thanks to my dog team Ruby, Simba, Ice, Stryder, Jimmy and Rough for taking such good care of me and thanks to the crew for taking such good care for the dogs!!!

Fantastic experience: Absolutely the best excursion in Fairbanks. We did a float trip on the Chena River September 10th fishing for Alaskan Grayling. Our guides were John and Ben who are extremely knowledgeable about the area and fishing the Chena. They provided excellent instruction to ensure we had ample opportunity for a successful day of fishing. They knew the exact spot to position us and the correct gear and lures. Both guides went out of their way to make certain that each guest had a great time no matter their age or experience level. Out of our 10 days in Alaska and several excursions this was by far the best and most memorable. I recommend them 100% and will definitely use them again on our next visit. Great service and great value for your money.

Fantastic experience: John was a superb guide on Cena River about an hour drive from Fairbanks. All. equipment was provided and had a great time fishing for artic grays-catch and release. Day before were taken on all day trip two hours from Fairbanks.
