Fantastic experience: Unbelievable experience! My son and husband came back with an experience of a lifetime! By far their favorite adventure in Hawaii. The Manta Rays were in abundance and the closeness and visibility truly made it a sight. Our son did scuba and my husband snorkeled, making it a great activity to do together and met both skill levels. The crew was knowledgable and friendly, creating a safe and fantastic experience. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: I had the best time with Manta Ray Dives of Hawaii! I did a two tank morning scuba with a few friends and they took us to two fantastic dive sites where we saw turtles, a white tip reef shark, octopus, and tons of colorful fish! I have been diving all around the world and can say confidently that these were fantastic dives. I also did a manta ray snorkel with this shop along with a large group of friends. They were fantastic about accommodating our group and ensuring we were all together on the same boat. We saw soooo many manta rays and it was amazing! This dive shop is professional and well-run. I highly recommend using them!

Fantastic experience: THIS WAS AMAZING! Never experienced anything like this in my life. I’m so thankful for the crew and this biz for opening up those waters to us so we can hang out with the Mantas like that and get a look into their life and majesty down there. It was insanely cool and beautiful. For anyone who’s scared, don’t be! It winds up being really bright down there with all the lights so you don’t feel like you’re just in the middle of the dark ocean. They make it so easy. The guides and captain are so friendly and helpful and do like everything for you. Oh and the tour was perfectly on time from start to finish and was everything they said it was gonna be. Now I just wanna get scuba certified so I can come back and go deeper!

Fantastic experience: We had such a wonderful time diving with manta ray dives Hawaii! They ( capt Mo, divers Holly and Riley and our favourite guest/ owner Patricia ❤️) were very friendly, professional and the equipment was in a very good condition. The instructions were clear and given in a fun way and last but certainly not least: the two dives were fantastic!! The encounter with the 5 manta’s that we saw were amazing and so close up and personal. Mahalo, guys! It was an experience of a lifetime !!

Fantastic experience: Since the first contact per email I made the decision to dive with them. Friendly, informative and kind service. Staff is great and knowledgeable, made us comfortable and the whole operation was relaxed and fun. Dive sites were also great, so was the boat and snacks/drinks. Did the 2 tank morning dive and the night dive with the mantas.

Fantastic experience: Amazing trip from start to finish! We had a small group for the two dive trip and the crew was so helpful and attentive! The manta ray dive was absolutely unbelievable and definitely a bucket list experience. 10/10 would absolutely recommend and will definitely be back to do it again.

Fantastic experience: 5+ ⭐ I can't recommend Manta Dive of Hawaii enough! Without a doubt, this is the best dive operation we've ever used. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. They made the experience smooth and enjoyable from start to finish. The dive gear was top-notch and in excellent condition, as was the boat. The short boat ride to the dive site was an added bonus, giving us the chance to see a resident pod of spinner dolphins. Our dive guide, Kenny, provided an informative and clear briefing, making all divers feel completely at ease. The dive itself was perfect for all levels, especially those newly certified or looking to refresh their skills. The highlight of the dive was an unforgettable encounter with seven Manta Rays. They circled us while feeding on the phytoplankton attracted by the underwater strobes. Truly magical experience and one that I highly recommend. If you're in Hawaii, this is a bucket list item you absolutely can't miss!

Fantastic experience: Amazing experience, you won't regret it!!! Crew was funny and adventurous. On top of seeing almost 20 manta rays, we saw several giant ones, a few hanmerhead sharks, and a group of dolphins on the way. The experience wasn't nearly as scary as I thought it would be either!

Fantastic experience: Fantastic trip - we went on a night-time snorkel tour with Ron, Holly, and Mike and they handle just about everything; masks, snorkels, fins, wetsuits, food & drink. All we needed were towels which makes it very easy for locals and visitors alike to hop on the boat and go. We saw over a dozen mantas and our guides knew them all by name. They take the utmost of care around these amazing creatures, ensuring they remain healthy and undisturbed by humans so that we can all enjoy them for years to come.

Fantastic experience: Guide Ron and captain pena are great!! Such a gorgeous experience!! We encounter curvier’s peaked whale which is rare to see. A huge group of pilot whales hanging calmly and a couple of followed white tip sharks who are ready to hunt. Definitely would recommend to anyone like wild adventure

Fantastic experience: AMAZING is an understatement. Not only did 2 of us get to use the “no manta guarantee” from 4 years ago with absolutely no issues whatsoever, but we also saw no less than 23 manta rays tonight!!! I think every single person on our board had at least one within an inch of our face! Hands down-the most unique and beautiful experience we’ve ever had! Also, when our youngest son’s arms started getting sore, our instructor so kindly helped him just get on top of the surfboard so he could still keep watching the rays. Mahalo so very much for the wonderful night you guys!!! We will DEFINITELY be back in the future!

Fantastic experience: Wow! This was an AMAZING experience. I got PADI certified with Brooks who was just the best. And I saw tons of dolphins underwater, 3 frog fish, Giant turtles, an octopus, lots of eels and tons of other fish. It was just fabulous!

Fantastic experience: We had an amazing time diving with this company! Very easy to find the meeting point and the staff were so fun. We did a 2 tank dive and the Manta ray night dive. They were relaxed and did not micomanage us during the dive which is something we look for as more experienced divers and we were the only divers in our group for both dives! They tried hard to find the sharks we wanted to see and we were able to swim through caves with reef sharks. For the Manta Rays we got super lucky and did some exploring before laying down to obseve the Mantas. We were able to see 11 different Mantas which they said is way above average (there is no guarantee to see any). Would definitely dive again with Manta Ray Dives of Hawai'i!

Fantastic experience: We went snorkeling with Manta Ray Dives of Hawaii. We chose this place because they had good reviews and it was a 3 hour experience compared to others that were same price but much shorter. Before you go, I recommend you bring towels and dry clothes to change into after if you get cold at night. They gave us comprehensive safety instructions before the boat even left the dock and provided us ginger chews in case we get seasick and lots of snacks. The ride to the manta ray spot was about 30 min in slightly choppy waters but pretty smooth. I know they cancel the night if winds get too severe which is totally fair because you basically float with arms extended from a board for about 45 min so if waters were rough, it would be tough to see the manta rays. The experience itself was amazing. We saw about 8 manta rays at once just swimming along, multiple barrel rolls inches from our face. One of them also grazed my friend so she can say shes been touched by a manta ray. Thats how close they get. You should not reach out to touch them though, and you have to maintain a horizontal position in the water by relaxing your shoulders for about 45 min. They provide wetsuits which is helpful because the water is cold at night. 45 min was no cap kinda hard for me, but the last 10 min were like the best thing ever because there were just so many manta rays. They provide anti fog spray for your snorkel and provide pretty good gear for you to enjoy the view. The crew also makes sure to try and find the best location for manta rays for you when youre in the water which shows how much of experts they are. They really look out for you to make your experience the best by trying out different locations if the first 10 min the manta activity is low. They are also very enthusiastic about manta rays and show a lot of respect towards them. Overall really great experience, would highly recommend. The crews outstanding, safety is important to them, good gear, very knowledgeable, and they work hard to have you see mantas. 10/10

Fantastic experience: We had an amazing dive last night. Kenny was our dive master. We saw 5 different Manta Rays. It was incredible to watch them glide right over us. Time truly stood still. We were able to see spinning dolphins on the way out which was magical as well. Everything was done with our safety in mind but it was so incredibly enjoyable. We saw fish, crabs, and the Manta Rays. They are majestic creatures and the experience was unforgettable. Everyone was great, including the boat captain! Thanks again!

Fantastic experience: The Manta Ray night snorkel was a wonderful experience from start to finish! We had Captain Pena, Riley, Holly & Keni as our guides, and a boat full of folks - but it didn’t feel crowded. The crew ran a super tour with great guest management, instruction, education about the most beautiful and graceful creatures (the Mantas!!!), and most importantly, enthusiasm and humor to keep the good vibes rolling throughout the evening. Mantas aren’t guaranteed but we saw a handful swimming around during our time in the water and they got so close which was such a wild experience. Fantastic experience: One of the best diving operators I have come across in my 100+ dives. The manta ray dive was something special. We went for a spot in front of the airport where we saw several big manta rays. Brooks was an amazing guide, Riley and the captain all very knowledgeable and helpful. When leaving port, there were dolphins and turtles. On the way back, the lights of the Kona coastline were a pretty sight while the crew offered some snacks. Thanks for the great experience. Amazing tour.

Fantastic experience: Mike, Mo and the gang seriously provided us the highlight of our trip. My wife and I had an absolutely amazing time on this excursion. We saw 8+ different Manta Rays and at one point had 3 of them doing flips so close to us their wings were tapping us. The next time we’re back on this island, we will be returning. It was worth every penny and I can’t tell you how glad we are that we did it. Don’t think about it, just do it! You will not regret it.

Fantastic experience: INCREDIBLE dive! We were expecting to see maybe 2 or 3 manta rays….. we absolutely scored and got probably 10 plus mantas for a whole hour! From the second we got off the boat until we got back in, mantas were all around us! The crew was incredibly professional, funny, and took safety first above all else. Even if you’re not a super experienced scuba diver, this is for you. Very easy dive and the instructors help you out with everything along the way. 10/10 will be back, Mahalo

Fantastic experience: An absolutely INCREDIBLE experience!! Captain Kaupena and crew were truly extremely helpful, kind, and set up everything for us. It was super easy from start to finish and an overall amazing time. When we got on the boat we were greeted with smiles and information about the safety of the boat right away. After that we had about a 30 minute boat ride to head over to the manta ray campfire and saw dolphins on the way. We even saw whales once we got there which was super special because the crew said it was their 2nd time seeing a whale this season!!! After that once we entered the water we were led by the dive master (I forgot his name I’m sorry I’m the worst) and led over to the campfire where the magic happened! 10+ manta rays swimming around us and showing off for us. Afterwards they washed all our gear, offered snacks and drinks, and it was just a great time and vibe all around. HIGHLY recommend this company for all your ocean adventures!! Thanks Kaupena!!!

Fantastic experience: Thank you, Captain Mo, Kenny and the rest of the Manta crew for such a lovely outing! There are many boats in Kona to choose from and I highly recommend this one for an out of this world wildlife experience. We were on the manta ray night dive and this boat was able to accommodate our whole family - certified divers, snorkelers and cruisers (not getting wet). Only 20 guests max. On my specific day, the cruisers and snorkelers actually saw more wildlife than us divers… two extra mantas and a curious (endangered) Hawaiian monk seal! Not that I am complaining with the dozen manta rays feasting underwater that night. It is a simple operation - one 45 min dive just after sunset. I really like that they go to the spot by the airport (much better than the over tourist spot in Keauhou Bay). Prices are very competitive and they offer kamaaina discount. Fantastic experience: First dive boat I have been on with plastic bins for your stuff. Small detail, big difference. Our dive master Ronny was informative and attentive. Told us what we would be experiencing and how to swim it. Suck Up one of my all time favorite dives. We went back with some snorkelers and divers for manta rays. Everyone was happy !

Fantastic experience: I used this company twice this last week during my vacation. I dove one night and snorkeled the other. Both nights were magical and the experience unforgettable. Fantastic experience: I went with this company for both the Manta Ray Night Dive and also the eco- wildlife Adventure, and both experiences were top-notch! Pena was our captain on both trips. They provide snacks, water, soda, and juice. More importantly we got to see these beautiful creatures up close! Swam with the manta rays and then pilot whales and oceanic whitetip sharks are couple days later!

Fantastic experience: I live on a neighboring island and was referred to this company by a friend of mine who did the manta dive a few months ago with Manta Ray Dives of Hawai’i. Everything he told me about the staff and the dive was 110% accurate. My son and I did the dive as part of his birthday present. We have both been exited about diving with mantas for weeks. We saw 9 mantas on our dive. Truly one of the most amazing things I have ever done in Hawaii!! My son and will be diving with this crew again in the future!!

Got to take the boat ride together with our friend who is not a certified scuba diver is a real plus. Saw dolphins on our way out. Learned about mantas and saw eight of them! This is definitely a must do at big island.

Fantastic experience: NIGHT SNORKELING WITH MANTA RAYS **Quick summary: smooth boat ride at sunset, joined by 2 dolphins for a big part of the ride, drinks and snacks provided; warm waters, saw about 11 manta rays throughout the night, great information shared, beautiful stars on the boat ride back, would do again!** There were multiple companies to pick from for our snorkel with manta rays and I'm glad we went with Manta Ray Dives! TIME and WEATHER: I picked a mid-day week in the beginning of October. The weather was warm and clear. I got to go with my dad and it was a first time for both of us! There are no shoes on the boat, so we left our water shoes at the dock. We enjoy boat rides, so we appreciated the nice ride out with the sun setting. We also were joined by two bottlenose dolphins for a good chunk of the ride! BOAT RIDE: Neither of us get sea sick, but if you are sensitive, consider taking dramamine. One kid on the boat did get a little sick and another individual got sick in the water. Out of a group of 22, that is great. Compared to our Zodiac boat ride in Kauai, this boat ride was very smooth! You also have the option to go on the upper deck or move to the front of the boat to get fresh air. Shout out to Captain Pena who made the ride smooth and found the perfect tempo for the dolphins to stick with us for a long part of the ride! There is an emergency toilet on board, so definitely use the restroom before you board! After departure, it's all about using the "blue loo" ;) SNACKS: In the main deck area, they have snacks (small chip bags, Amos cookies, mints, ginger chews, pretzels, etc) and drinks (sodas and canned juices). SNORKELING: Riley and Mike were in charge of our snorkeling tour. They divided up the group into two. When we got to the location, Riley gave us a debriefing about the nature of manta rays, the guidelines, and what to expect. I love the dad jokes. Riley made the presentation very informative and entertaining! We were given our short-sleeved wet suits (snorkels and fins given at the beginning) and they had defogging spray for our masks. I think I saw some people who brought their own. DIVERS: were in a separate group, so I did not hear their debriefing. But I do know that you need to have completed at least 5 dives prior and completed one dive in the past 3 years. You can chat with their rep online if you have more questions. When I go back to the Big Island, I definitely want to make sure I qualify to join their dive! SNORKEL: in the water, once you got to the paddleboard, Riley did all of the work. We held onto the handles and he tugged us from spot to spot. At first, there were not a lot of mantas, but once it got completely dark, the plankton became concentrated underneath the lights and the mantas came for their feeding! Riley was super enthusiastic about all of them and knew them by name! He would point out their defining features so that at a certain point I was able to call them out by name, too. GOPRO: I brought my own and got some awesome footage! They're still on my GoPro, though, so I won't be able to upload any here, but have the settings ready for some wide angles as well: the mantas come RIGHT up to you. I got an amazing look into their gills, mouth, eyes... they're centimeters away from the board. I had one hand on the GoPro and the other holding on to the paddleboard. I did start to cramp after awhile, so find a position that is comfortable for the full time. We spent about 45 minutes in the water (not including trips to the "blue loo" heh heh). POST SNORKEL: One towel was good, I dried off afterwards. I had some dry sweatpants and a rash guard to put on. I also brought a jacket because reviews said it was cold. I hung out on the front bow the whole ride back and did not get cold at all. The breeze was warm and dried me off. The stars were BEAUTIFUL and the ride was quicker. We had a proposal (wow!) and a great end to the night. Pro-tip: ask about military or educator's discount!

Fantastic experience: This snorkel was phenomenal! I really wanted to take my 12 yr old daughter to share in this experience, who has snorkelled very little as have I. Ron was a magnificent leader/guide. His instructions were clear and precise. We felt very safe and looked after from the moment we stepped onto the boat until we stepped off again. We saw Manta as soon as we entered the water, and saw 13 total! The entire time we were floating Manta were there and we had two doing belly rolls at once. If we were counting we'd have seen well over 50 belly rolls. Ron moved us around to see more and more, going above and beyond. Ending the night over the divers "campfire" where about 6 Manta were in full performance. Spectacular experience! The other 2 men on the boat were just as friendly and helpful although their names escape my memory. The 3 of them were a perfect crew!

Fantastic experience: The capt. was Awesome, the crew was energized, and Manta’s showed out - 13 different one and 8-10 circling us at one time we experienced double and triples manta’s doing loops inches away from us feeding at a time. Best snorking experience EVER!

Fantastic experience: Amazing expierences! Did both the Manta Ray & the Wildlife adventure snorkeltour with them and we could not get any better expierences then that they have given us. A big shoutout to Ron who was with us on both of the tours. We have seen en snorkeled with 2 kind of sharks spieces, pilot whales, 2 dolphin spieces and of course Manta Rays. Unbelievable.

Fantastic experience: Great experience. We saw a lot of big manta rays. Staffs were super friendly and helpful, answered all my questions about the dive and the rays. The boat is very new and they offers water, drinks, and snacks for guests. I would highly recommend to go with them.

Fantastic experience: Wife and I booked the 2 tank scuba tour after having just gotten certified a week ago in Maui. Getting certified, we’d only done shore diving and a max of 30ish feet so this was a big change! They’ve got so many great reviews for a reason! We had Keni and Holly, they were awesome dive masters. Helped us do our first jump in gear off the boat and went at a slow pace for us. We made it down to 50+ feet, saw eels, octopi and an entire pod of dolphins. It was very memorable and we were happy to have such awesome masters for our first “real” dives. Would recommend any day!

One of the people on our boat didn’t agree with being out in the ocean when she got in, and the crew was quick and efficient in getting her back in the boat safely. We got incredibly lucky and saw double digit manta rays, and they got within inches of us!! I personally got motion sick with the rocking of the waves on the boat, but it was completely and utterly worth it. Take some Dramamine, and go anyway (at least that’s my personal opinion). Highly recommend not only this activity but also this crew! If you want to be safe and secure while having the time of your life, I would definitely go with this company!

Fantastic experience: A unique experience. No problem seeing plenty of Manta Rays. Definitely up close and personal time with the rays. Crew was professional, no worries about safety. Make sure you have snorkeled once or twice before. This isn't the time to learn. The water is about 40 feet deep. You will be floating with a pool noodle under your waist and hanging onto a surfboard in a superman position. Wet suits were provided. Water temp really wasn't a issue. Incase your vulnerable to sea sickness, you must take a 20 or 30 minute boat ride each way. We had a great time.

Fantastic experience: Super crew! We did the morning 2 tank dive and the manta dive and snorkel, everyone working was very safe and knowledgeable. We originally chose Manta Ray Dives of Hawaii because they run BOTH scuba and snorkelers on the same boat. If you are a diver that hasn’t convinced your loved ones to get certified THIS is for you! but also if you like to snorkel at different sites that aren’t clogged up with with what sometimes feels like an elementary field trip THIS is for you. SCUBA one of the first questions the crew asked was “what do YOU want to see today?” And then selected dive sites accordingly. I was able to enjoy the whole tank on both morning dives even when others finished their tanks before me. Not certified but want to try Scuba? There was a couple on the boat doing a “discover” scuba dive. They were assigned their own private instructor to give them a safe unforgettable experience. You could try scuba in a pool on the island OR you can get into the clear ocean and actually see things. The manta dive was incredible giant mantas coming within inches! If you want to take pictures there is enough light for even an average setup to get great shots. If you have a choice bring the widest lens possible because the mantas are up close and personal. If you’ve made it this far and still aren’t convinced the rental gear was top notch, parking near the boat was easy and plentiful, and the morning trip left at 8:30 so you don’t have to get up early.

Fantastic experience: My group did participated in the snorkel and scuba dive with the Manta Ray Dives of Hawai'i team. This was such a fun experience!!! The boat ride to the dive spot is about 40 minutes, the snorkel is about 45 minutes, and another 40 minute ride back. Although the team provided ginger chews, mints, snacks, and juices, I highly recommend some Dramamine or another anti-nausea meds on choppy water days. The up-close experience with the manta rays was excellent and worth every penny, and the team made it VERY fun with their knowledge and excitement about this super cool animal. Fantastic experience: On 09/09/24, my husband and I went on the Manta Ray night dive without knowing what to expect. We had seen pictures and read reviews, but we hadn't done it before. It was our 5th trip to Hawaii, but our 1st trip to the Big Island. We spent 2 days and 1 night there just for the Manta Ray dive. The crew was very nice and welcoming when we arrived. After boarding the boat and heading out, Holly provided us with a lot of good information about the Mantas on the way to the dive site. Rylee, our snorkel guide, was also very nice and checked on everyone during the journey. I can easily get motion sickness, so I made sure to take my medication and stood up watching while on the boat. Rylee checked on me to make sure I wasn't getting sick and even offered me some ginger candy to help prevent it. We were hoping to see at least 1 Manta Ray on our night snorkel trip, but we were blown away by several that kept coming up to us. As soon as we got in the water, we saw one, and I immediately felt that it was worth the trip. After a few minutes, we moved closer to an area where other companies were, and then we saw the big show. So many Mantas were feeding that night; it was amazing. Sometimes we had 2 at a time eating right by us. Rylee checked on everyone every 5 minutes or so while we were in the water. One lady was getting sick, so he pulled her away and discreetly kept an eye on her. It made me feel better in case I was to get sick. We were in the water for 45 minutes, and it flew by because of all the Mantas that we had seen. Seth was our boat captain and was very nice and informative as well. I can't say enough about how great of an experience we had. I highly recommend them and give 5 stars to the crew!

Fantastic experience: This is a must do to experience these gentle giants of the sea! The crew was great, friendly, helpful and made sure we were all safe and comfortable. Oh, did I mention we were successful in seeing quite a few Mantas? Bring an underwater camera and film a movie!

Fantastic experience: This was the best dive ever! Our dive instructor Keni and Dive Master Holly were both amazing to dive with. I did the manta ray night dive and safety was a top priority for them which I really appreciated. They went over the dive plan, safety, and a detailed description of how the dive will be executed and did it to a T. The equipment rentals were great quality, scuba pro, and they break down all of the gear for you which was really nice, allowing you to enjoy the boat ride back. The dive itself was incredible, as soon as we jumped in the water we were surrounded by about 8 manta rays. They swam right up to us! This was an experience of a lifetime my husband and I will never forget. Thank you for making our bucket list come true, we will be back one day! * I will upload photos soon!

Fantastic experience: This was such a great experience! The guys were very nice and knowledgeable about the mantas. We saw about 7 of these beautiful creatures which was awesome. They come right up to the board and are so close.

Fantastic experience: Outstanding, just absolutely outstanding. Just about everything about the experience was great: the check-in was smooth, the witty banter from the captain was actually "chuckles" (not cringe), they had good snacks, the ride was mostly smooth, and then the actual manta experience was just unreal. It was a little uncomfortable trying to grip the pool noodle for 30 minutes but totally worth it to almost touch "noses" with the rays. Don't worry about the temperature, the half wetsuits they give you work fine after the normal 5 minutes of adjustment to the water Worth every penny

Fantastic experience: We recently went on an evening manta ray snorkeling trip with Manta Ray Dives. It was the most memorable part of or Big Island trip. The staff were professional, safe, and incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about what they do. We felt very fortunate as we had a high number of manta ray sightings which staff said was almost record breaking. We also saw a monk seal! I highly recommend them and wouldn’t hesitate to book another excursion with Manta Ray Dives if I return to Hawaii.

Fantastic experience: One of the most epic experiences of my lifetime.= Diving with these beautiful and majestic Manta Rays. We watched 11 Mantas total for 45 mins.. at one point 7 were in front of us as we were laying on the ocean floor in a “campfire circle.” I was in awe and was brought to tears. I think I squealed at least 20 of those minutes. They swam peacefully over our heads and swam all around us..one gently booped my shoulder as it swam over me. What struck me was just how aware they are, they knew exactly how to swim barely an inch above my face and head so as not to hit me. There are over 300 mantas rays identified in this bay. Of the 2 species, the smaller live here. They can be 10-14 feet long tip to tip. At night, plankton are attracted to the lights which provide a perfect feeding opportunity for these filter feeding mantas. I watched them opening their mouth, saw their lungs in the light, and right inside their body cavity as they fed and watched as they barrel rolled and gracefully glided through the ocean.. nothing can really describe this. If you are reading this as a review on who to dive with go with @mantaraydivesofhawaii ! This was far beyond any expectation I had, you are all such incredible people and ambassadors for the ocean and these majestic creatures. Your respect for all things ocean and earth is remarkable. Holly {Ray } was our dive master and was fantastic, she took great care of my bestie who was very nervous, our Captain and 3rd crew member were wonderful! I learned so much today, was reminded of who I am in my soul and will never forget this experience. ❤️ so thankful that our 3rd diver got some gopro footage and shared it with us. This was just the first two arriving.

Fantastic experience: This was our second time doing the manta dive with these guys and they once again, did NOT disappoint! The first year we went we were lucky to see one manta. This year there were 14! Mantas aside, the dive masters were amazing. Brooks was our particular guide and he went above and beyond. Not only did they remember all of our names, but Brooks went a step above and fired my mask after I told him it was new. This is hands down the best crew. Fantastic experience: If I could give this 10 stars I would. Our group of 5 did a private manta ray snorkeling tour and had THE BEST time. The crew was kind, funny, attentive and knowledgeable. The boat was clean and comfortable but had no bathroom, so be prepared to jump in the water to relieve yourself. There were snack and drinks available which was helpful, since the tour occurs in the evening around dinner time. We learned so much about manta rays and their history in this area, and it really gave me such an appreciation for these beautiful, brilliant and majestic fish. In a stroke of luck, the plankton (a food source which attracts manta rays) was abundant on the evening of our tour, and we saw probably 6 or 7 different manta rays (whereas a typical evening you’d see more like 1-2 manta rays if they show up). It was lovely watching the manta rays do barrel rolls and play, and many of them got very close to us (within inches) which is a truly exhilarating experience. I have to say, I’ve done a lot of amazing things in my life and this experience was truly unforgettable. The manta rays are absolutely captivating and I feel lucky to have had such a special experience. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: Really awesome experience with an amazing crew. The crew was very prepared with everything from safety equipment to snacks, and provided a highly in depth explanation of the biology of mantas before we started. Despite us being on a packed boat, the crew was very attentive to each of our needs. Our divemaster was also very clear with instructions and provided us with the best experience possible. He had pre-prepared all of our wetsuits, BCD, regs, weights and other equipment and gave us very easy to understand instructions on how the dive would go down. All we had to do was get in our gear and follow his instructions. The dive itself was one of the coolest experienced I've every had. We saw more than a dozen mantas, with some coming within an inch of our faces. Definitely highly recommend Manta Ray Dives of Hawaii and will definitely be doing this again with them if I come back to Big Island.

Fantastic experience: Amazing time! Riley and the rest of the staff were wonderful. He reviewed some cool facts about the mantas, why they come to certain spots and how we can minimize our impact while observing. As soon as you arrive, you get greeted and snacks/beverages offered. Sightings are not guarenteed, so I was excited to see one within minutes of getting in the water. By the end of our 45 min, there were easily 20 mantas and they were also visble at the surface of the water while we were climbing back in. Riley was able to identify many of the regulars by their spot patterns/size/scars. One thing I would say is if you cannot keep your legs up (floating flat), probably not a tour for you as the mantas come within inches of you and you can easily injur them by dangling your feet. They are gentle giants, no stingers/teeth. I would absolutely recommend this company. As an added incentive, we were the first company in the water and one of the last to leave. You may also see other marine life on the boat tour (we saw bottlenose dolphins riding the bow and playing in the waves).

Fantastic experience: Manta Ray Dives of Hawaii provided a fascinating and fabulous night of snorkeling with the mantas. Our guide Riley and Captain Seth were a wealth of information and humor. We saw numerous mantas almost a soon as we got into the water. It was a very memorable experience that was a highlight of our trip to Hawaii.

The night we did the night dive we saw 8 manta rays. I would highly recommended doing the manta ray dive or snorkel if you're in Kona.

Fantastic experience: Decided to do this to get out of my comfort zone. The staff on the boat was extremely friendly, safe, and knowledgeable. We got a quick informational session about manta rays and then we were in the water seeing the amazing gentle giants. I would say next time that I would opt for the scuba option because they got most of the action but that’s cause mantas are wild animals so they are going to do as they please! Would definitely recommend to others!!

Fantastic experience: We were told to go see the Manta rays by so many people, then my friend and his son went and said it was a must see. We had a relaxing boat ride on the top deck of the boat with Pene as our captain. He was full of information and really seemed to love his job, as he had been doing it for a long time. The rest of the crew, Kenny, Holly and Michael (I hope I'm remembering their names correctly ), were all very knowledgeable. With safety as one of their main concerns, besides seeing Manta's of course, they made sure everyone was comfortable and well informed about everything that was going on and what to do. They were fun loving and really seemed to enjoy their jobs. We were seeing Manta's before we even got in the water. Once everyone was in position, and the plankton started to gather, the show started! They were coming right under us, only inches away at times, doing barrels rolls under the light for everyone to see. It was a magical experience that I would recommend to anyone! Positive experience: Overall, great experience. But unfortunately for me the weather made some pretty bad swell and the ride to the location made it a nightmare because of the motion sickness. Our tour guides were great and knowledgeable the whole time we were out in snorkeling. The captain was great too, the crew had a lot of energy. I did get the vibe that they were just tired of people getting motion sickness and not feeling well--it made it seem like it was a nuisance.

Fantastic experience: Super experience with Manta. Did two dives during the day. Captain Ron and dive leader Holly went above and beyond. From having our gear ready to being very friendly and knowledgeable. Did the Manta night dive that night and again, super experience. I especially loved the “Shell Phone”!!

Fantastic experience: My husband and I were on our baby moon and went on this dive and it was incredible and so special to go while pregnant. I am a strong swimmer and love being in the water and near animals when pregnant so this was right up my alley. We went on the sunset manta ray dive on 6/29/2024 with Kenny, Ashley, Riley and Captain and they were all so wonderful, knowledgeable and so friendly. We saw about 8 manta rays and they came all the way up inches from our faces and bodies. One's fins even touched my big round pregnant belly. I'm 7 months pregnant. The visibility is so clear in Hawaiian waters and the large scuba diver boat was a nice ride over. They had great snacks, plenty of non-alcoholic drinks and ginger candy for those feeling woozy. I had a great time and appreciated all the manta ray knowledge from Kenny that was explained about these fascinating animals prior to getting into the water. It was truly so great to hear all about them from someone who you can feel truly loves and respects this animal. He had a moment with one of them, he was explaining, a few weeks prior that had a hook in it and the manta ray let Kenny take it out. Truly amazing. The wetsuits fit perfectly, the fins and masks were very nice and all fit as well and directions and rules were clear and easy to follow. I would highly suggest this tour!! Our guides figure there were around 40 total in the area. Our crew was fantastic: Funny, knowledgeable, and experienced. Fantastic experience: One of the coolest, once in a lifetime experiences! I was a little nervous to get into the ocean at night with large animals swimming around me, but the staff put my mind at ease and explained in great detail what the mantas were like. They were also super knowledgeable and friendly. If you are debating booking this experience, do it! You won’t regret it.

Fantastic experience: I took a snorkeling session and it was a really nice experience with Alycia , Jocelyn and her dad..They were funny, kind and super helpful. Jocelyn was fantastic. We saw quite a few manta rays that evening. I was amazed at how close we could get to them. It was my birthday that day I’m really glad to have had a nice experience. The next time I’m back, I really hope to sign up for scuba diving with them!

Fantastic experience: Mantas, Mantas and Mantas- Incredible Dive Trip- Top Notch customer service crew- professional, kind, and passionate about marine life/ VERY educational. I did this as a night dive on my last night on the Big Island to see the Manta Rays with Kenny our dive master and he was all of the above and more. He made sure each diver was comfortable with equalizing their ears with no pressure to get down fast with emphasis on divers having a wonderful experience. And that we did, there were so many Manta Rays that I did not know where to point the go pro. I will add video clip once I get done editing. Evidently there were 33 Mantas the night before and I estimate that was about the same number the night we dove. Just beautiful creatures and eloquently swam over and in front of us doing rolls and turns, one of the top 2 experiences of my life other than Great White Shark diving in Australia. I will definitely dive with them again for not only Manta dive but also the day dives. The reef they took us to for the night dive looked like it would be beautiful during the day. Evidently they also have quite an offering of excellent dives and snorkels seeing whales, sharks and dolphins. Your entire crews excellence in every part of my experience with your family owned Manta Ray Dives from booking, diving, great music and yummy snacks after dive through watching dolphins ride the front of boat waves in almost full moon on the way home has won you a new lifetime customer. Fantastic experience: I had a blast on the manta Ray night dive. We had Brooks and Holly as our dive masters. Brooks gave us a superb introduction to the manta rays and the history of how it became popular on the island and then he and Holly took care of all the aspects of the dive. Highly recommended.
