Captain J's Kauai Offshore Adventures

Positive experience: Unfortunately no napali due to weather.. so we had to do both our rides on same side both the days.would have been better if we were given chance to cancel/refund one of the rides . As we ended up doing both the rides on south side(duplicate)

Fantastic experience: This was the highlight of our trip! The boat ride was an amazing way to experience Kauai. Our crew: Captain Ryan, Kannon, and Jeff made our experience even more memorable. After seeing the beautiful views we were able to swim and snorkel. Captain Ryan brought us to the perfect snorkel location. Big mahalo to the entire crew! Would definitely recommend.

Fantastic experience: Today the surf was very high. Due to this we could not go in the sea caves and seeing the Napali coast was not very close and was very distorted (due to thick water vapor from waves crashing and the sun hitting it). Despite this, we got way closer than the catamarans!!! We saw a whale tail and many dolphins. The crew was a ton of fun and we felt we could really trust the captain. CJ was so fun and inviting. He really took off some of the edge, for many people who were very nervous because of how large the waves were. His brother Willie did an amazing job making very scary waves bearable. The captain made me feel safe!

Fantastic experience: We had an amazing time with Captain Andrew and Cannon. They were both knowledgeable and entertaining. We saw spinner dolphins, bottle nosed dolphins, flying fish, boobie birds, and FINALLY, whales. Captain Andrew kept us out longer than scheduled to be sure we had the best chance to see whales. He did everything short of turning our boat into a submarine to find whales. Thank you both for an amazing day!

Fantastic experience: The whale watching tour with our captain Landon was great. Landen was funny and at the same time observant. If he spotted a whale blow hole he would point it out and moved the boat to give everyone a better view. I would do this trip again if I could. If you are ever in Kauai go on this trip!

Fantastic experience: We had been out less than ten minutes when we saw our first pair of whales. In all we probably saw over 20 whales. Loved every moment!

Fantastic experience: I can simply say our crew was knowledgeable of the islands, safety was first, and provided our boat so.e of the best experience. It was like the whales were coming to us as we had soooo many whale sightings. We even saw a whale jump way out of the water, that you can only dream of seeing. Awsome experience that I would do again and will definitely recommend.

Fantastic experience: This was an amazing excursion!!!! Captain Andy and Nick were top notch! They were so friendly, funny and hospitable! The tour was spectacular starting off with seeing whales! The Napali Coast afternoon tour was stunning with the sun shining on the coast illuminating the mountains! We went on a helicopter tour which was spectacular but went in the am and the Napali Coast was in the shadows. So glad we took the afternoon adventure tour! We went right up to the caves and waterfalls. Then we saw several whale shows on our return trip! Topped it off with snorkeling and seeing the sunset! Sit in the front seat if you want a wild ride!!! Thank you so much for taking us out Captain Andy and Nick! This is an experience we will never forget! Book the tour! You'll love it!

Fantastic experience: Our Na Pali Coast tour was absolutely incredible!! We chose the raft option, Landon and Matt were our Captain and guide, they made the trip interesting and fun. We didn't have to worry about anything but enjoying the amazing views. We 100% recommend Captain J's to anyone considering a Na Pali Coast tour.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely loved hanging out with Captain Landon and Matt. I got super sea sick and Matt was ready and jumped into action to make sure my trip was enjoyable. Great crew and scenic views! Laughed the whole time…..when I wasn’t sea sick lol

Fantastic experience: Captain Ryan & Cannon we friendly, fun, attentive and knowledgeable. It was a great ride. We same some whales and dolphins, but they were not very active. We still had a great time.

Fantastic experience: Lando & Matt were great. Highly experienced. They were literally carrying the other dolphin / whale watch tour boats and found us 10+ whale sightings, traveling in packs of 3+. 20+ dolphin group sightings. 7+ rare beached seal sightings on one of the beaches. LOL! Do not expect these results every time fyi, it really varies on the weather + the big blue & season of year you visit. We got extremely lucky. Went thru some pretty sweet caves. Snorkeling + swimming were both options at multiple points. They loaded us with snack & drink options. Amazing clear skies offering breathtaking views of entire Na’Pali Coast. Lots of history of the natives up & down the shores.. 10/10 MUST DO with Captain J’s. The ride back was more like a water coaster, lots of fun. Don’t eat big before doing this, & the bathroom beforehand.

Fantastic experience: Best tour in Kauai! We loved every single second of it. It feels like a true adventure but with all the comforts. We got to see caves, waterfalls, coves and a lot of dolphins! FUN, FUN, FUN!!!

Fantastic experience: We had a great time on this trip even though it was too swelly to snorkel or go completely inside a cave - we did do a blue water swim which was awesome . It’s not for the faint of heart but if you are up for the adventure it is a great time. We saw some humpbacks and albatross that we swung back around to get a better look at, and the scenery was amazing. Captain Landon was super experienced driving over the swells and Matt was super friendly and had great info. And the music choices were immaculate!

Fantastic experience: Great day on the water! Top quality boat combined with a fun, skilled and safety conscious crew made for a very enjoyable and entertaining excursion. We got lots of fun facts and historical context on the sights along the way, and even spotted humpback whales on the way home. These are open waters with variable sea conditions, so choose a company with a good boat and competent crew. Captain Nohili and first mate Ryan were great. I would highly recommend this charter.

Fantastic experience: Noholi & Ryan led us on a high adventure trip today! Huge swells made for an exciting ride but their expertise at the helm kept us safe. We had a few whale and turtle sightings and a fun snorkle adventure made our trip complete.

They led us to a humpback whale, many dolphins, excellent snorkeling and navigated the rising swell like experts with amazing views all around. I would 100% do this tour again!

Fantastic experience: Captain Andrew and Ryan are phenomenal!!! We went snorkeling and saw many different fish and a sea turtle and then shortly after we saw a pod of dolphins and even whales breaching! They have extensive knowledge of the area and great music on the whole time. They also clean up nose bleeds very well !! (Speaking from experience) all around a great ride and well worth it !! Don’t forget to tip your guides for their great work, communication, & knowledge !!!!!!!!!!

Fantastic experience: What a day! Captain Andy and First Mate Ryan gave us a fantastic tour of the spectacular Na Pali coastline that included snorkeling where we swam with myriad colorful fish AND a graceful sea turtle. We saw a humpback whale breach the surface and raise its tail as if waving to us, a large pod of spinner dolphins performing their acrobatics and brown footed boobies. The majestic mountains were breathtaking. The captain was fun and informative and educational. Highly recommend this trip. We sailed back to the dock with a spectacular sunset to boot

Fantastic experience: We had the best time! Captain Andrew and his first mate Canan was amazing in every way. Considerate, knowledgeable, funny and skilled. Loved the playlist and how the music enhanced the amazing scenery. We went with three kids (9, 12 & 18) and all of us loved every part of this tour. The boat was a great size and even though they can’t get us all the way in to the caves we still got in a bit and that was beautiful and always felt very safe. The swells were big! The snorkeling was fun because of all the fish that came to eat. Kids loved it! We saw dolfins a few times and a few bottle nosed came right up to our boat and spent some time with us. So cool! Totally recommend this tour and these guys! A memory for life! Very grateful. Mahalo!

Fantastic experience: My husband and I had an awesome time on This Captain J Adventure. Matthew and Landon were fantastic, kind and very knowledgeable. It turned out to be a beautiful day with no clouds and we were able to see dolphins even. I would recommend this to anybody. Landon and Matthew were knowledgeable about the sites and maintained our safety at all times. We had a blast!!

Fantastic experience: Had an absolutely AMAZING time with Captain Landon and deckhand Matt! Although the waters were a bit chopping that didn't stop Landon from getting us up close and personal with some cool spots all while feeling very safe. I learned so much during our tour, had a blast on the boat and got to wrap it up with a snorkel adventure just before sunset. THANK YOU! 11/10 recommend

Fantastic experience: Wonderful ride and tour of the Napali Coast with Captain Landon and our boat crew Matt and a lovely boat load of other people who really loved being there. For a winter cruise we had a lot of luck with the tide, the swells, relatively low wind, friendly turtles and a completely unexpected green flash of a sunset. Landon's mastery of the boat got us into sea caves and under fresh water waterfalls used by the Polynesians for fresh water for their canoes without having to navigate the coast. His play list was great for anticipating when we'd be hitting the waves and bouncing on swells. A rollercoaster on the sea. It reminded me of Splash Mountain with how wet we were able to get. Both Matt and Landon happily talked about the island's past, how the civilizations on the Napali Coast traded, crafted, and lived on those magnificent cliffs. The scenery was amazing. Even better seasoned with plenty of sea salt from the spray. And Matt cheerfully served us drinks, snacks, and made sure we had access to the facilities as needed. Matt watched over us as we paddled about on snorkel and fins and were quick to respond when someone had an issue, luckily it was just dropping their fins, not drowning, but Matt responded so quickly it was reassuring if something really were to happen. It was a fantastic trip. Mahalo to the crew and the company for it all.

Fantastic experience: Definitely a must do while in Kauai! Captain Landen and crew member Mason were awesome and the views were amazing. Would definitely recommend Captain J’s to anyone!

Positive experience: Had an adventure today with Captain Andrew and his cowboy boot co-captain (sorry couldn’t remember his name). We went out on a choppy day and felt like from the beginning they were pretty honest about what to expect. We cruised up the Nepali with great views and easy to see everything. Take any anti-nausea meds you can…you will need it. Jetted back to the snorkel spot and our group didn’t have tons of confident swimmers but we were entertained with shark stories and snacks while sitting in a cove. Only reason I gave a 4 is that I wish there was more information about what we were seeing cruising to the Nepali.Will recommend to others. The sleeping spinner dolphins were a highlight.

Matt made sure to capture an amazing photo for us, and captain Andrew was magic with the boat. We saw dolphins (which was unexpected) and he stopped to let us watch the sunset! Fantastic experience: These guys were the BEST!! They keep you happy, they're attentive, they answer questions, just do it. We did the sunset tour with dinner. The food was good! You'd be surprised. Kalua pork, teriyaki chicken, some greens. They have vegan options that looked good too, made from some sort of bean or another. You have to buy the vegan optoion ahead of time. DJ and Duff are great. The captain narrates the whole way through, but it's not intrusive. I highly recommend. They're good guys.

Fantastic experience: We had a great trip with the crew today! They know so much about the island, have a great sense of humour and the boatride was beautiful. We were very lucky to have had very calm water and we saw so many dolphins. The ride was a bit bumpy now and then (what else to expect on the sea), but we still were very comfortable. Would highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: Had a great time on this tour. The boat is an exciting way to see the Nepali coast up close. Captain Andrew made sure everyone had a safe trip and was very knowledgeable on the history of the Nepali coast. Snacks and cold drinks were readily available while on the boat. If you like your time on the water to be spent with a smaller group, this is a great choice, there were 13 people on our tour.

Fantastic experience: Very comfortable raft that was able to get into some caves, the weather really was perfect for us so that made it exceptional. The snorkel portion was just okay, but the captain and crew were great!

Fantastic experience: Awesome time. The guide seemed knowledgeable of the Kauai landscape and history. The crew showed us a good time. Snorkeling at their favorite spot had plenty of fish to swim around. They like to cowboy over six foot waves making it adventurous. Not for the faint of heart.

Fantastic experience: What an amazing family experience! We were in an afternoon cruise. Their boat is so much fun. Landon was our captain, with Shane his side skipper. The scenery is amazing. It was too rough to snorkel but we did get to jump in and cool off. I would give six stars, but Landon didn’t share his killer island music mix. If you’re remotely thinking of doing this, just go for it. You won’t regret it. If you do it and regret it, who hurt you? Whoever it was, it wasn’t Landon or Shane. Stop living life with regrets. Anyway, this peas an incredible trip. We’ll do it every time we come to Kauai. Thanks team!

Fantastic experience: We had a great time being out on the water and Captain J made many stops along the way to see the spinner dolphins and other points of interest along the coast. The caves and waterfalls were amazing and we had a nice stop in calm water to snorkel with fish and even a turtle came by at the end. Highlight of our trip to Kauai! Highly recommend over raft boats that bounce you around! Mahalo!

Fantastic experience: Great view of the Nāpali coast. The boat is fast and a fun experience. Take some Dramamine if prone to sea sickness. I took another tour with a different company with a bigger boat about 15 years ago. I enjoyed this smaller boat experience better. You can get down in the sea caves and up closer to the cliffs better in the smaller boat. The snorkeling was cool right up next to the Nāpali coast but you will see better fish and sea life elsewhere on the island. You can’t go wrong with going on this tour, a great experience- as long as you are comfortable going up to 35 mph on a boat out at sea.

Fantastic experience: We had a great time and enjoyed the cruise very much! The boat is just the right size and it was nice having seats. We saw dolphins and the snorkeling was good. We went near the caves and under the waterfall. We also went out a bit further since weather was nice. The captain and crew were great and gave us history of the coast. Morning time is best when water is calmer

Fantastic experience: Highlight if our trip to Kauai! Micah and crew were great and went out of there way to make sure we had fun. Boat ride was awesome. We shot through a cave twice, snorkled in the clearest water ever and got rained on by a waterfall. Don't skip this trip!!!!!

Fantastic experience: Our boat tour was awesome we did the morning tour and the lighting was amazing. The crew did an amazing job giving us a good safe ride we saw dolphins and turtles and sea caves we had plenty of time to watch the dolphins. Such a cool experience seeing an unbelievable stretch of coastline.

Negative experience: I fully understand this is a weather-dependant activity, but they need to use their expertise to cancel and give refunds when the weather won't permit an enjoyable experience advertised. Instead, they kept our $800 and tried to salvage. No caves, no dolphins, no worthwhile snorkeling (got in the murky water for a few minutes near Barking Sands). Just 4 hours getting jostled around the sea. Got back an hour early... mercifully. Our family of 4 was last getting on the boat, so we didn't get to sit together or near our children. Views were great. Captain was fine. Shain the deckhand was great. Snacks were a plus. Maybe try another company with a catamaran. They seemed to handle the waves better and continued past where we turned around. Overall, it seems like they should be able to talk to other operators or the morning tour that just returned to better assess the conditions. I think they did because he tried to temper our expectations before we left, but they still fell short. If they seem pessimistic in the briefing, try to get a refund!

Fantastic experience: This Napali coast boat ride was one of the highlights of our trip. Captain Jude and Matthew were amazing hosts. Because the weather was impeccable (apparently it was unusually perfect that day!), they took us further up the coast than normal and [partially] into some really breathtaking caves. The water was clear, the staff was incredibly friendly, and the boat was comfortable. Everything about this tour was perfect and we can't wait to do it again!

Fantastic experience: A highlight from our Kauai trip! The best excursion to view the NaPali Coast. We saw dolphins, learned about the history of the island, got to see where some movies were filmed, listened to great music and snorkeled. Even with the ocean being a little rough, we managed to get into the caves! Shoutout to the captain for those maneuvering skills. The crew was awesome too. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: The tour was great! Amazing way to see the Napoli Coast. We we wanted a boat that was small and could get into the sea caves. We were nervous after hearing how beat up friends felt on other small boats. This was perfect!! The boat was comfortable. The views unreal! Loved this tour! Thanks for such a great experience!

Fantastic experience: Great experience on Captain J’s. Our Captain Landon and First Mate Shane did an awesome job taking care of us. We felt safe at all times and the high seed craft was the right size - not too big (which keeps you from getting too close), and not too small (very bumpy!). Tip is to sit on the Starboard side going to the coast, so that you can easily see everything on the one side. I would highly recommend this service if you want to see the cliffs up close and snorkel safely. Small bars and water/juice are provide - but the last thing you will be thinking about is eating…the coast is fantastic!

Fantastic experience: The tour was a blast and was my favorite of our trip. Got to see dolphins, turtles, and cool fish. Snorkeling is not guaranteed but we lucked out that conditions were permitting. The ride is also a thrill with some awesome maneuvers that this boat can make. I think this is the best option out there as the boat is big enough to feel safe but small enough to get into the caves and cool areas. The water was getting rougher on the way back to the harbor but overall not bad. We had worries of sea sickness but didn’t have any issues with that. Captain Landon and Shane did a great sharing knowledge of the island and made it fun too. If you are debating, just do it!

Fantastic experience: We went with Captain J's Na pali coast adventure with Captain Lars and 1st mate Matt. Seeing this coast line was a dream come true. The beauty was beyond spectacular and having a guide that knew the wonderful history and heritage involved was truly moving. They were kind and helpful to my daughter with special needs and we had the best photo opportunities. It is not a quiet ride, but we had the best time.

Fantastic experience: This was the icing on the cake for our already amazing trip! It was beautiful, adventurous, fun all wrapped into one. Really it was a really good time and the 4.5 hours flew by, partly helped by Landon (captain) and Cannon’s comedy interspersed into very helpful and insightful tour comments throughout the trip. The 80’s music on the way back, made my wife’s day. I would highly, highly recommend this outfit. The group size isn’t overly large, since boat can only fit less than 30. The size of boat allows opportunity to get into caves, which we did, but this is not possible on larger catamarans. The downside may be you feel waves more, but it was a relatively calm day and therefore not a big downside. My son is 7 and had a blast. Frankly, my wife imwas telling for the 3-4 days prior to the trip that we should cancel because she was worried it would be too bumpy and she can get motion sickness. I persisted and reassured they would have a great time. Captain J’s totally delivered and they both had an amazing time. If you’re in a similar situation, I wouldn’t hesitate going…it’s so much fun!!!

Fantastic experience: Our captain was Landon and the crew member was Kanon... We were not planning on doing anything besides the beaches while on the island, but this advertisement in a magazine and decided we had to give it a shot. Sooo glad we did. The crew was amazing and very entertaining/interactive. Both Landon and Kanon made the tour so much better. The tour itself was the highlight of our 2 week Hawaii vacation. We have always wanted to see the Nepali Coast and Landon made sure we received picture perfect views. Anyone who is debating about doing this tour or not. Just pull the trigger and do it. You will not regret it.

Fantastic experience: Our morning tour was great! The water was a bit rough, but Captain Andrew and Shane navigated it very well and made sure everyone was comfortable. I really enjoyed hearing the culture and stories of the Hawaiian people and why the Napali Coast is so important to them. I was worried we may not get to snorkel, but the crew took us into a cove and made sure that part was a great experience too! I highly recommend booking with Captain J’s!

Laina called the next day to tell us they had the shirt. She remembered selling to to us and made a point to reach out and let us know she had the shirt. Fantastic experience: I did a fishing trip 2 years ago with these guys and was the best day of my life until today. While fishing two years ago, they bragged up their NaPali coast tours. We came back this year and tried it out. I-N-C-R-E-D-I-B-L-E-!!! Captain Landon drives that boat with more skill than I have seen anyone drive anything. Cannon was an incredible first mate and host. Perfect mix of adventure and safety. The boat is so much fun and the best type of boat for this excursion. Cannon also knows how to take the best pictures to get an awesome family photo with the most picturesque backdrop. This company knows how to do it! I would give 10 stars if I could.

Fantastic experience: So much fun! This was our favorite excursion on all Kauai and we have done a ton! Kannon and Landon were amazing crew, best boat! I would highly recommend this boat, this company and this crew! The caves were beautiful!! We were in them!!

Fantastic experience: This tour of the Na'Pali coast was the highlight of our trip! Captain Landon showed us a great time. We saw a pod of spinner dolphins, including a baby spinner dolphin jumping and spinning out of the water! We went under a waterfall and into a sea cave, and our snorkeling experience was the best one I've ever done. We saw beautiful fish, coral, and sea turtles. The coast was also breathtaking, and I learned a lot about Hawaiian history during this tour as well. I highly recommend this excursion! Worth every penny!

Fantastic experience: MUST DO!!! Seasoned, knowledgeable, funny and caring crew! Loved Captain K and Noah! I was worried I would get sick but was surprised how the tunes on the boat made the ride that much more amazing! Calming tropical reggae on the way out till we got used to the waves and classics on the way back. Perfect mix of adventure and beauty without sacrificing comfort! Saw sea turtles, monk seals and even mountain goats! Even got lucky with a sweet rainbow on the way back. We did this trip on a one day hop from Oahu. Totally worth it and one of the best rides of my life! My pics won’t do it justice but the memories are priceless! Thanks so much for an EPIC day!!!

Fantastic experience: Went on Captain J’s Napali Coast Boat tour and it was hands down the coolest boat tour I’ve ever been on! We got to explore the caves, got drenched under the waterfall, saw bottlenose and spinner dolphins, sea turtles, and we had so much fun on the high speed boat. Captain Landon and Noah were awesome!

Fantastic experience: This was the best boat tour I've ever done and I've done quite a few. First of all, Captain Landon and crewmate Kannon were a blast. They show professionalism and their personalities very well. The dad jokes were awesome. They made sure to stop any time we saw any movement of dolphins or turtles. We saw so many dolphins, it was awesome!!! Captain Landon even got a wake going to get them moving and it worked. They know so much of the history of the Cliffs and Na Pali coast. It never felt boring. Second, this 4.5hr tour was money well spent. Gorgeous views, calm water and a blast! We did the 7:30am tour and I highly recommend that time slot. Once that sun is out, it's powerful. The morning time seemed to not be as bad. Lastly, this is overall a great tour company. Everyone was kind, enthusiastic and knowledgeable! On our way back, we definitely had some rough water but Captain Landon's expertise showed. He knew exactly how to work the boat in that water and get us back safely. Thank you Captain J's and Captain Landon and Kannon!!!

Fantastic experience: Fabulous tour! Landon and Kannon were terrific! So glad we chose this over a catamaran tour as we zipped the coastline and caves in adventurous style! Dolphins chasing the wake was so cool! Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: This was by far the best thing we did on Kauai. We were very fortunate to have calm clear waters on our drive to the Nepali coast side. Really great music selections by Shane, who was also very personable and provided great tidbits and insights along the way (while Captain Andy drove the boat). We got to see a ton of spinner dolphins, and that was such a treat! We were able to go in a number of caves and we made such great time with the calm waters, that we were able to go a little more north than they usually do, and it was all breathtaking. I loved having seats to sit in on the boat. The snorkeling was great, and I was able to follow a sea turtle for quite awhile (though my mask did leak slowly and I had to dump out water numerous times). There was a variety of packaged snacks and cold drinks available throughout the excursion. Really enjoyed our half day and would highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: We had an amazing tour. The ride was very comfortable and a lot of knowledge was shared with us. We was lucky to spot dolphins on the way. The scenery is breath taking.

Fantastic experience: I was dreading getting up at 6 to make it to Captain J’s super raft Napoli Coast tour as we needed to be there 45 minutes early for the @7:30 start time. But when we got to the store front, the dread went away when I saw other people looking enthusiastic to get going. There were 24 people (28 is the max) in our group and it felt like a perfect amount. Captain Andrew and Shane (the guide) briefed us quickly before we took off, and made sure we were well informed during the rest of the trip. Today we were lucky to have mild waves and crystal clear water. We saw many spinner dolphins which was exciting as they travelled in a giant pod. During the snorkeling session, we saw many colorful fish and some sea turtles. Captain Andrew and Shane were very patient and helped everyone get in and out of the water. Since everyone was on time and the conditions were perfect, we were able to go a little further north and see more sea caves, which was pretty magical. Overall, we had a blast and would totally recommend the tour to anyone.

Fantastic experience: I’ve taken several trips to the Napali coast with different tour companies. Never been on a nicer boat, with friendlier staff, or better snorkel equipment. The entire experience was really great. I highly recommend Cap’n J’s.

Fantastic experience: Magnificent views. Great friendly staff. At the end you get to snorkel saw a lot of marine life. Swimming with turtles was a first. Captain Andrew was amazing definitely needs a raise

Fantastic experience: Did the Captain J 4.5 hour a.m. Napali Coast tour on the super raft with Andrew and Shane in early September. We lucked out. The weather was perfect and the ocean was like glass for most of the morning. The crew Andrew (the Captain) and Shane (the guide) made it a very relaxed tour and did not rush or skip out on any of the highlights. We got more than we asked for because we were able to get further up the coast to see another sea cave thanks to the weather and the efficiency of the crew. After a morning of sightseeing and dolphin spotting, the snorkeling was also handled efficiently and the crew minimized our prep and down time. The ride back was a little bumpier as the winds picked up, but overall, no complaints.

Fantastic experience: Captain Andrew & Vince made the whole experience wonderful. We toured the beautiful Na Pali coast, seen dolphins, snorkels with beautiful fish, swam next to turtles. It was a once in a lifetime experience. I would definitely recommend.

Fantastic experience: Captain J and his crew were professional, experienced, and made sure everyone on board felt safe and that they had a great time! I loved this experience. The Nā Pali Coast was gorgeous! We also went inside a cave (old lava tube), under a waterfall, and other fun stops along our tour. The Capt was very knowledgeable on the history of the island and it was cool to learn along the way. We even did some karaoke on the way back that made the bumpy ride more enjoyable! If you get seasick, take medicine before as the sea state out there is quite choppy. I would recommend anyone coming to Kauai to check out this tour. The snorkeling at the end is also great. The water is so refreshing on a hot day and what an amazing backdrop to be in. Book with Captain J when you are here. You won’t regret it!

Fantastic experience: We went out on the 7am morning cruise with Captain Andy and Shain. It was a blast and so amazing! They were courteous, entertaining, knowledgeable and fun! We saw Spinner Dolphins, snorkeled and explored the beautiful Napali Coast! The snacks were great and the music playlist superb! We have been on tours to Costa Rica, South Africa, Mexico and other Hawaiian Islands and this tour ranks in the top as one of our favorites! We highly recommend Captain J’s!

Fantastic experience: Captin andrew and first mate Shane(not sure if thats his official title) were great. They both are playing close attention to there passengers. We were able to do ever stop on the tour which was great. If you can request Cpt. Andrew and Shane do it! However, come ready to laugh at Shane’s terrible jokes… lol They both were great and took time chat with the passengers. I sat in the back of the boat because i was the last person to board and as a solo traveler i was hoping a space would be open at the bow of the boat. If you’re looking for a calmer ride choose the back. It’ll be less “bumpy” but bumpy at the same time. This is NOT a tour for someone who gets motion sickness easy. If you do you will more than likely get sick. Make sure to take pills beforehand otherwise it won’t be a fun 4-5hrs. All in all this is a must do. You won’t be able to see the Nā Pali Coast otherwise. Spend the money, the time, and potentially getting sick to see it!

Fantastic experience: I recently had an incredible experience with Captain J Boat Tours in Kauai, and I can't recommend them enough. Our captain, Landon, and his first mate, "Handsome" made the entire trip unforgettable. They were not only professional and knowledgeable but also made sure everyone was having a great time while keeping us safe. The boat was well stocked with water, snacks, juice, and Gatorade. During the tour we were lucky enough to see dolphins (Captain Landon did a great comedy bit, solid set) and explore some amazing caves. The snorkelling stop was a highlight, where I got to see some really cool fish up close. Captain J Boat Tours is the way to go. Big thanks to Landon and Nono for the great time.

Fantastic experience: Captain Janice was lighthearted, upbeat and such a smooth sailor! She was timely, professional and very seasoned on the open seas. When the water got choppy at the last 30-45min of Cruz she was so great at driving. We were fortunate to see schools of spinner dolphins, go in and out of a cave & snorkel with a few fish. Nohili was an awesome storyteller & deckhand, sharing the sad & incredible history of the Napali Coast. One of the most beautiful places I’ve seen in the world & worth the cost. They offered a variety of snacks including some gf options but we did bring our own turkey and cheese & power bars since it’s about 5hours. You really don’t need to bring much on the boat! Towel, sunnies, hat, camera & sunscreen. Wind breaker of u have one I’m glad I brought a sweater for return ride. They were so lovely I’ll definitely come back & do it again! we happened to go Aug.10 same day as international canoe race! That was extra exciting!

Fantastic experience: This was an amazing trip! Captain Janet and her co-captain kept the boat ride smooth and took us into the caves. She has a superb skill when navigating this 37 ft boat! They made it fun! We got to see a lot of dolphins and lots of fish when snorkeling. Highly recommend this boat tour!!
