Fantastic experience: Kaniala was a great help today with my battery service. First, he called to touch base of where he was coming from, which I totally appreciated. When he arrived, he was very courteous and friendly and very professional. He verified with me what service I requested and talked to me every step of the way. I appreciated his respectful, kind, and professional mannerism. He represented AAA gloriously and is a true asset to your company. A big mahalo, Kaniala!

Fantastic experience: Super fast and friendly service! Got my International Driver’s Permit with photos same day. Took less than 15min.

Negative experience: Central dispatch is mostly unhelpful bots. Benny’s Mobile Service finally dispatched to replace our battery. Waited 6 hours with them saying they’d be there soon, until he called to say he had no truck or battery and could jump us with his car. Rebooked for next morning and again waited 3 hours. When he showed battery was suddenly $20 more, all cash and he wouldn’t provide change. Save your money and don’t waste it on a AAA membership.

Fantastic experience: I live on an island different than Oahu and was skeptical how soon I’ll get my international driving permit if done by mail. I was prepared to fly to Oahu to take care of it in person. I was so pleasantly surprised to get it in the mail today (I mailed my paperwork on Monday and today is Friday… it might have gotten here earlier, but I only check my PO Box once a week). You guys are the best! Definitely exceeded my expectations! Thank you!

Fantastic experience: I have been a loyal AAA member for 25 years in California,I transferred my auto insurance to Honolulu AAA after shipping my 1995 Chevy G20 cargo van here last year. Usually, I pay over the phone or use the AAA app to conduct business. This was my first visit to a brick & mortar store in years and my 1st visit to this location. I was greeted with ALOHA and promptly seated for a few minutes when an AAA agent came to assist me. She was very friendly and helpful in every way. I left feeling satisfied and that I accomplished the reason I stopped in the 1st place.

Eventhough they short-handed but they addressed us right when we enter the place. I have all the paperworks (IDP form, 2×2 pic w/ sign at the back, our ID, passport)so easier for them and faster.

My car was stuck in my driveway, a situation that could easily turn into a day-ruiner for anyone. However, Adam and the team demonstrated incredible ingenuity and skill by MacGyvering a solution using nothing more than a zip tie. This quick thinking and resourcefulness got my car moving and allowed them to safely load it onto the tow truck. Their professionalism, efficiency, and friendly demeanor turned a potentially stressful situation into a remarkably positive experience. Fantastic experience: Easy process and very painless. Went there during the weekday close to the closing hour times for an international drivers license. The whole process took less than 10 minutes. They also offer passport photos cheaper than other places out there. Check them out.

Negative experience: Overall it took about four hours for me to get service, and I was in town. I called to provide additional information about my needs and the local dispatcher canceled my first service call without telling me. After I’d already been waiting 90 minutes, I texted on the app to find out a new arrival time and they texted me for a while then stopped altogether. I had to call the AAA national hotline and THAT’S when I found out my service call was canceled. The hotline person said she grilled the dispatcher hard about what had happened because there weren’t even notes about why my request was canceled. The service provider who showed up was nice and helped me get on the road again so no complaints about him. Dispatch was a whole mess and the thought of having to call AAA again is more traumatizing than comforting.

Fantastic experience: Went to get my international driver's license. The lady who helped me was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. I filled out a form and had my picture taken. I was given my license right there. It was a quick process. It cost $36.

Negative experience: I am still waiting for my quote. It's been 2+ years.

Positive experience: Took 2 hours to get a tow truck to come rescue me when my transmission broke on Lunalilo highway. There always seems a tow truck immediately available when you’re parking ticket runs out though.

Fantastic experience: Finest Towing responded to my call even though it was just to tow 800 feet. The tow truck driver was super friendly and helpful. He was able to get the car started when 3 others failed. Finest Towing is the best!!

Negative experience: I've had AAA Hawaii for 3 years. I used it for the second time and the tow truck driver said that he didn't have the equipment to tow my car and it would be 12 hours before they could tow my car. I called AAA back and they say that he is required to tow my car and make him come. He took my car halfway home and the wheel falls off their tow dolly. He leaves me on the side of the road and says to call back tomorrow for another toe. Left my car in an unsafe area and so I have to sleep in it so it doesn't get broken into. I told AAA this and asked if they could have another tow company come and they did not make it happen. They said I could pay for it and maybe get reimbursed but I would have to fill out a form. Pretty sad when you use this for emergency situations and you're just screwed and nobody cares.

Negative experience: They helped us fast. Great. We use the same pictures that the US passport office accepted on the same kind of paper. This office wouldn't accept them because of the paper quality and said that we had to pay the money to get pictures. This is despite the fact that it was printed on the exact same paper that we sent to the passport office and it was accepted. They basically just wanted to get us to give them an extra $15

Fantastic experience: Great service!!!

Negative experience: This particular AAA interinsurance exchange is absolute trash. They have on multiple occasions canceled my policy without notice, taken me off of autopay without notice, and have made decisions about my policy without involving or notifying me in any way. I had to turn the paperless option off because I could not trust them to process my payments every month and dealing with them has become a chore.

Negative experience: Quick and easy getting and IDP. Only problem is they didn’t stamp class A for motorcycles when I have it on my Drivers License. Didn’t notice until abroad and can’t get a new one. Incompetent.

Negative experience: Need to be able to get an IDL online. It's pointless to insist on going in person. Collect the fee and issue the document.

Fantastic experience: How does anyone own a car and not AAA? Not to mention all the extra benefits that come along with the membership. $89 for a Plus annual membership that gets you 100 miles towing is seriously priceless. You never know when you'll need a tow and the time you need it is not the time to try to sign up. There's a 7 day Grace periods anyway but if Tully know someone that has AA thru could always use one of their tows for you which is another nice perk. The app is so easy to use and very user friendly. We actuated used it recently for a tow and it was so much easier than calling it in. We will always have AAA and you should too!

Fantastic experience: I flew into Honolulu, Hawaii and was able to take a Lyft to AAA to purchase an international driver's permit (IDP) on our short 3 hour layover. I was also able to get passport photos made here for a small fee or bring two for the IDP. I asked my Lyft driver to wait, it took 40 minutes, and I was quickly returned to the airport for my connecting flight.

Fantastic experience: I had to come here to get my International Driver's License. The process was easy and you can even get your passport sized photos for the permit done as well. It truly was a one stop shop to get everything done. I was in and out in no time at all.

Positive experience: AAA was not allowed access to West Maui after the Lahaina fire.

Negative experience: I’ve called them on three separate occasions to change the card associated with my account. And three separate times it still hasnt worked causing my account an old one to be overdrawn. This is infuriating. Why cant you guys fix this? I dont get the fees I have to pay back for the mistakes you make.

Negative experience: I purchased this membership to help in case of emergencies. After waiting for 2 hours for roadside assistance and no one showing up I had to call a friend from work to come and get me. Not worth the money if no one shows up.

Negative experience: A woman in a dark suv calming to be the vice president of AAA for Hawai’i just berated a young man. Looked like she was going to attack him, chasing him around. She yelled out “I own you I run AAA I’ll make sure you never work again”.the driver had his lights on and had his truck parked. She drove like a maniac through the parking lot speeding then jumping out of her suv to scream at the driver through her window.all of this because she came speeding into the parking lot and didn’t like that she had to go around. If this is who is in charge of AAA I’m seriously reconsidering terminating my membership of 12 years. That was just disgusting behavior.

Negative experience: They pull a bait and switch after you pay. Tried to get a truck towed home from the body shop and was denied because the motor runs. Transmission is hammered and shouldn't be driven on the highway but was denied service anyway. Never had a problem before today. Seems like the operator kept asking questions til he could deny my service request.

Fantastic experience: International Driver's Permit process is very easy and has made my travels so much more fulfilling as I was able to rent a motorcycle in Vietnam and a car in Taiwan!

Fantastic experience: I always feel good walking into the AAA office, and even better walking out. it’s almost always in the middle of my hot town scrambling before a trip, and the shaded parking, nice (but not pushy) staff and cool A/C calm my nerves a lot. I went in today for passport photos, and was out of there in half an hour with photos, an expedited application, and an International Driverʻs Permit - so easy! I use a lot of tows, so membership is absolutely financially worth it. Tried tow service through my insurance, but the quality and speed of service just did not compare. Luckily i overlapped them, and called AAA while waiting endlessly for the other guys. They had me home before I even got a time estimate from my insurance, and helped me with a lot more. I have not been going into the office as much becsuse online maps have fulfilled a lot of my previous reasons, but when i went in today I remembered how much I like them! This location earns 5 stars for sure!

Fantastic experience: We walked in to get an international drivers license. Officers were nice and kind. I got the wrong form from the internet. So the application fee we prepared was different. It was supposed to be $20, but I prepared only $15 money order. Although, I was able to process it with paying $5 cash. We went on Saturday before they close maybe at 1:30pm? It wasn't busy at all so we could finish it fast.

Negative experience: There is one person working for AAA and he is forty minutes away and has several calls before us. We are partially blocking a lane and on a sidewalk. So, rather than wait hours, my husband walked to a gas station. No cans. Now he’s walking to a store to buy a can. The virtual assistant is a nightmare, but we eventually got to talk to a human. Why do we have AAA? Why doesn’t AAA have more than one person working for them in our area?

Fantastic experience: Went to pick up my International Driver Permit. They take walk in and offer passport photos for a small fee. The whole process was quick and painless. Aulani was super friendly and made sure all my questions were answered. $20 fee for the license and you can pay with card.

Fantastic experience: I called AAA for a travel money pouch. I know they sold them years ago. I wasn't sure if they still did. The young lady who answered the phone answered quickly and professionally. She knew the product I was speaking of and acknowledged that they sold money pouches in the past but no longer do. She gave me the names of a few places to look. She wished me well on my search, and we ended the phone call. I have been a member of AAA for decades. I no longer own a car, but I keep an AAA policy even though I have towing and lock out with my car insurance and most of my credit cards. Surprise, you don't need to own a car to carry car insurance or an AAA policy.

Fantastic experience: I went to the triple A on Nimitz to get an international drivers license. Called to see if I could get an appointment and left a message. Someone actually called me back and had me come in day of. Holly was my associate and she was beyond professional. Had the paper work ready to go and the camera set to take a photo for my license. She kindly dealt with another women who was pretty rude while Holly was working with me and Holly politely helped the women while not skipping a beat with me. I was in and out in ten minutes. She is the definition of what customer service should look like.

Positive experience: I was just about to drop AAA for car insurance. Long story short my card expired that card was linked to auto pay so my insurance was not getting paid I never received a latter about cancellation. I opened the app and it said no insurance I was upset. I reached out to AAA to get current with my car insurance. Some of the representatives I have encountered I noticed unworthy representatives or it could just be undereducated. I had one representative tell me if I pay the amount I may not be covered another said I have to pay this amount and then a manager decide wether or not AAA can cover me or not. Remind you this was the first time my insurance has fell behind. I was given different amounts to pay. What turned this negative experience around was a representative Roberta she cleared it up and helped me understand the steps to get me current. Thank you Roberta for not giving me the run around and being truthful as far a AAA please train more knowledgeable when it comes to insurance or reinforce truthfulness with your representatives. for the customer don’t waste your time call Roberta

Negative experience: Bought a house in Hawaii but didn't move immediately. They mailed a letter to my physical address in Hawaii telling me my insurance was expiring due to the material on my roof - my insurance lapsed and now other insurance companies are turning me down because of the lapse. Terrible communication. Their policy is stupid too - if the roof has any cap sheet they won't cover it - even if there's additional layers of protection. The agent I worked with was also totally incompetent. I escalated to his manager and she didn't even respond. Avoid at all costs. A formerly loyal AAA customer of 8 years.

Negative experience: AAA plus member for 48 years. Call for a tow at 8am. They say 10 to 11. No worries I say I'll wait. 1045 comes around and no word so I call back. New update time is 6pm. They suggest I keep waiting. I ask to find another tow company, and they say they'll call me back. No call. Waiting 4 hours now so call back again. They find another company but at this point it will be another 2 to 3 hours. So looking at 6 hours minimum from when I called the first time. And I am not in some remote location. I am in urban honolulu. Why pay for AAA membership if it takes 10 hours for a tow (and they don't tell you when it changes)? What would happen if it was my wife or kids in this situation? What a nightmare to think about. Would absolutely not recommend AAA to anyone in hawaii.

Negative experience: Called for tow truck requesting for flatbed do to the weight of my hummer at 3:15pm and a regular truck comes at 4:30pm,driver says its to heavy for him and he call to let them know that a flatbed is needed. Sat there checking my text and it says driver will contact you,so I called 3 times and finally a truck came at 7:00pm driver says he just got the call almost 4 hours late

Negative experience: Bad battery they installed; waited for hours. Tow truck showed up jumped car tested and charging system ok; battery bad and refused to replace battery because part of the positive terminal had some surface corrosion. Driver left.. Car sol. #/%"^^$#%<<^ Never again AAA. Had to go to an auto chain service place; had to buy battery still under warranty $144. They told me they'd send a check reimbursing and arrives about 35 days; been over that nothing.. Update never got the refund check......

Negative experience: My family and I have been a AAA members for a total of 71 years, and let me say right away that it has been a horrible recent experience with AAA. This past Friday, I called in the morning to tow my car, which is not running, from my home to an auto repair shop in Wahiawa. After waiting for more than 2 hours, with out being notified that a town truck would not be sent to my home, I called and asked to speak with a supervisor. The supervisor “promised” me that she would follow up and that the dispatcher would let me know if a towing company would be available. The towing company itself cancelled my service request for a tow, without an explanation. That company was MJ Souza Towing and CJ, so I definitely would not recommend this company either. No one from AAA called to follow up with me, and I received no tow. I had to then call the repair shop, explain the situation, and reschedule my appointment for next week, thereby delaying the repairs to my car, all because of the incompetency of AAA! I am also very disappointed at the level of unprofessionalism of AAA, including the supervisor , who was supposed to follow through on my service request for a tow, but did not. As such, I will not be renewing my membership, and I would not recommend AAA Hawaii to anyone!

No one knows how to fix and the first customer service rep said she would send a new cards and email me a printable card Not holding my breath!!!!! Take the money and run!!!

Office is surprisingly large with lots of agents, and beautiful travel BOOKS for sale, including for kids! Marked AAA Parking immediately outside their office door is free, unlike rest of parking area. Other services are available like insurance and travel agents, and i think a notary public (but call to reconfirm).
