Fantastic experience: We went in this afternoon to get some information about the bullet train rides from Tokyo to Nagano to Kyoto and back to Tokyo. Although we didn’t end up giving them any business by buying tickets through them, our consultant Kana Kurihara was still very helpful with detailed information on alternative ways to get tickets ourselves. Fantastic experience: The Japan Travel Bureau (JTB) along with Japan Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines, were leading sponsors of the annual mid-March Honolulu Festival in Honolulu, Hawaii. Over the years, I have purchased my Japan Airlines tickets to Japan and Japan Rail passes for rail travel throughout Japan from Japan Travel Bureau. I highly recommend their friendly, efficient, service accompanied by their reasonable fares. PLEASE NOTE: The current special $5.50 fare for travel the JTB double decker bus through Waikiki, downtown and back to the Ala Moana Shopping Center. Soon, I hope to ride the JTB orange "Pink Line" double decker bus for views from up-on-high through Waikiki and downtown Honolulu. That should be an exciting perspective. ALSO KINDLY NOTE the images of my Japan Rail (JR) pass along with my various rail tickets purchased along my travels in Japan.

Negative experience: When I asked if there was a place to smoke, the female staff member coldly mocked me, saying 'There isn't one. It's a shopping mall.' I was really surprised and uncomfortable. I thought it was very rude of the staff since I was asking because I didn't know.

Positive experience: A modest office space located outside rhe Shirokiya food court where you book any dream vacay in the world, specializing in Japan. The staff is friendly, courteous and patient when it came to booking the perfect holiday.

Positive experience: Located on the first floor of Ala Moana Shopping Center, it is a facility that you can use by applying through JTB. It serves as one of the starting points for the JTB trolley, acting as a transfer point to areas like Waikiki and downtown, and there are people who can guide you, speaking Japanese. These guides are often found in the parking lot, even if you do not enter the JTB Oli Oli Station. To enter the JTB Oli Oli Station, you must show the olioli card received at the start of the JTB tour. Once you present the card, you can enter. Inside, you can get information and make reservations for optional tours, restaurant bookings, check-in at some hotels, and souvenir information. Although I am not sure of the content, it seemed like they also held workshops. There are restrooms available, and the air conditioning is excellent, making it a great place to kill time until the trolley departure. Occasionally, there are people with multiple name tags, possibly engaging in activities for recruitment, and there are also facilities related to JCB cards, which adds to the offerings beyond just JTB.

Fantastic experience: For travelers who don't understand right from left, this is a really convenient and helpful place. The staff speaks Japanese, so everything is okay, and they are kind. There is also a trolley bus station nearby, so I always stopped by when I went to the Ala Moana Shopping Center. However, the shopping center is too big, and I had a hard time finding the OriOli station.

Positive experience: When I went around 3 PM on a weekday, it was surprisingly empty. It was very crowded on Sunday.

I participated in tours and high-bus here, but was told 'You can't use it here,' so I wandered into Ala Moana and asked at the information desk inside. Well, it’s a JTB tour, but I couldn't figure out what the difference was. I felt a bit disappointed.

Negative experience: I had a matter to attend to at JCB Plaza, but the displayed hours were those of JTB, and it was not open at 9:30 or 17:15!

Positive experience: I left my newly bought T-shirt on the sightseeing bus! When I visited to ask if it had been delivered, it was there! Thanks. Even though only Japanese tourists ride, it was a big help.

Negative experience: Terrible, horrible experience. This was our first time booking a trip to Japan and we just wanted a little experienced help. Instead it took us several months to book the entire thing, and we were asked multiple times which tours we wanted to take when that wasn't a big concern for us. Other than that, we really weren't counseled on the types of places we were staying, simply given a list of hotels in our desired locations. Since this is a huge company, we decided to just trust their judgment without researching ourselves. Big mistake! Some of the hotels were completely sketchy, to the point where the last five days of our trip were booked in Kabukicho, Japan's red-light district! Aside from flights we were given no help nor advice on transportation, which stressed us out big time and made planning that much harder for us. As a side note, while we were in the office a man walked in who said he drove from the other side of the island to apply for a JR Pass. Before they gave him the form, they tried to turn him away by saying he could do it online! The guy came ALL the way down to the office to order a JR Pass, and you can't just give him the form?! TL;DR, it's a terrible place to go for a custom trip. Go only if you want a completely predetermined tour package and don't care about customer service, 'cause this company takes no interest in your personal travel needs.

From this center, JTB users can take a free bus to major tourist spots, and the main stores in Ala Moana offer member prices for shopping. The most important thing is that there is a washlet here. It might be the most important thing.

Negative experience: Wanted to buy JR Rail passes but the lady there wanted to know my whole itinerary. Ahhh, if I wanted a 14 day pass, just sell it to me. You don't need to know what hotel, airline or cities I plan to visit. Just know that I'll be in Japan for 14 days and I want a rail pass for those days. Needless to say, I'll buy them online where it's $3 cheaper and delivered via FedEx for FREE.

There is an abundance of travel itineraries displayed, but you better ask the right questions or the assistance goes downhill pretty quickly. Disappointing. I left.

Negative experience: I was very disappointed with their personnel today. I asked if certain services were available...and apparently spoke with someone who did not want my business. I was repeatedly advised of what they DON'T do ("maybe someone else does"). I wanted to know what THEY COULD do for me....NOT what another agency possibly could. Very put off...and disappointed.
