Negative experience: We booked a Luau with this company back in April and the show was canceled due to weather. I contacted them multiple times about the refund telling us that they are "working on it." We are in August and still waiting for the refund. I understand that things happen and we was trying to be understanding, but this is way to long for a refund. We will not be using this company again for our future trips to Hawaii or recommend them to anyone. I gave them one start because they answer the phone every time we called.

Negative experience: Ordered lei greetings for my entire family. They were no where to be found upon arrival. I contacted them multiple times while we were on Kauai and they said that they would refund our money. It has been 6 months since our vacation and still have not received a refund. They have stopped responding. What a waste of $263. Will not ever use this company again, and I would not recommend them to anyone. I would give them zero stars, but it will not let me. Negative experience: We booked a 7am Kayak tour with best of Hawaii about 2 months before our trip to Maui. We got up at 5am to drive an hour across the island only to find out that Best of Hawaii never booked our tour. This was a highlight of the trip that we were looking forward to and were extremely disappointed to find out we didn’t have a reservation and wasted our time. We got no communication from them after we booked the reservation that said they were unable to complete the booking and when I called to follow up they said they no longer are working with that vendor even though they are still listed on the website. I’m frustrated with the lack of communication from Best of Maui and that their response to me was that they haven’t updated their website to include companies they are still working with. DO NOT use Best of Maui for any booking any tours.
Negative experience: WARNING: These guys are NOT legitimate. They are selling tickets to activities that they have nothing to do with!!! Many times over now, I am amazed this site is still up.

Saying we have nothing to do with the companies we work with, is like saying amazon is not legitimate.
Our business is similar to expedia.com, booking.com and many other marketing agencies for the tourism industry.

Negative experience: Back in April 2020 we booked a 3 persons for the Kualoa Ranch - Two-Hour Raptor Tour. Due to the pandemic outbreak, we had to cancel our trip and had the booking cancelled and confirmation email was sent that they "refunded" the booking cost that was over $400 US. However, no money was refunded. Numerous attempts were made by email and phone calls to the company to get my money back, but they never replied or answered their phone calls. Still to this day I have yet to receive my money back! Don't trust this company and take your business elsewhere! If management is reading this, please respond to my email.
Fantastic experience: 4 stars for the reservation process (had to call hotline to get more detailed package info vs. having complete updates online); and thus had to also e-sign the credit card transaction doc because credit card info was given over phone as opposed to directly entered through an online transaction. Eva though was very helpful in emailing details and promptly finalizing transactions once my family decided on the 2.5-hour Guided Popoi'a Island Kayak Tour. Waivers are conveniently signed in advance online, and the day prior confirmation call was appreciated. About the actual day, 5 stars for the day-of tour guide Jarrod and the ease the package provided! Lunch, snack, water, kayak gear including life vests and dry bags as well as snorkel gear all included. Just arrive in swimsuit and water shoes! Shower also onsite for rinse after getting back from beach. Upon arrival, welcoming staff guided us to the waiting area where Jarrod introduced himself, fitted us to the different gear, and walked us through the day's plan while also gauging our interests and experience. He loaded the truck with equipment, drove us out to the beach park, and we followed his instructions to get out to the waters. Poor brother had to eventually kayak-tow us out past the beach currents because of the challenging weather, then gave us a walking tour of the small island. We enjoyed lunch, tidepools, and a bit of snorkeling, then kayaked back with the help of the waves this time. Jarrod, thanks for your patience and flexibility, and looking out for us! My aunt loved her first time kayaking!
Negative experience: This company is a scam I purchased 3 Jurassic Jungle Expeditions for Kualoa Ranch when I arrived at the Ranch they told me there is No Jurassic Jungle Expedition so I called Best of Hawaii Tours and spoke with Aiden and he said it's not completely wrong as my tour will pass by the set I told him that's not what I paid for and he said there's nothing he can do because Kualoa is sold out when I asked for the manager he said it was a person named Mor who doesn't take calls. Do not book or buy from Best of Hawaii they are scammers!!

There is no tour in Kualoa that only goes to the Jurassic sites, and it's all on the product descriptions, both on our site and on kualoa.com
There was no reason for you not to go on the tour as it's a lot of fun, and coveres some of the Jurassic film sites, among other movies, and overall it's a great tour.

Negative experience: I was lied to about skydiving availability. I booked skydiving and then I received a phone call. I was told that skydiving is not available at that location. I asked if skydiving is available in different locations in Maui. The person who was calling me said that skydiving in whole Maui is not available at all and I can't book it anywhere. I booked it through different website and everything was ok. Why lie?

This sounds more like an error in knowledge vs a lie.
You made a booking request, and since covid hit, we do not work with the Maui skydiving operator any more.
They we're not operational, and so we're we.
Since we re-opened, we didn't add them back to our active vendors list.
You were not charged for the booking, and I am happy you found a different website to book with and got to fly.
I would ask you to adjust your Review, as it sounds like no damages were done to anybody.

Negative experience: Due to COVID - I had to cancel my trip to Hawaii. I had reached out thru email, phone and text and the company stopped responding to me after the first of two attempts. In total I spent over a year reaching out to company 10+ times. I had begun to lose hope in receiving a refund or even rescheduling but I had found the Department of Commerce and Consumers affairs (DCCA) of Hawaii. I reached out to the DCCA and they were able to help me and contact the company on my behalf. I was able to finally able to receive a refund. It is a shame when a customer has to rely on government intervention for assistance. Please avoid and beware when booking with this company. This whole process took my months to resolve. In response to the company's message - there was no attempts made to contact me in regards to getting my mailing address. In fact, I had sent multiple texts, phone calls and emails and never received a response. The only reason I received a refund was due to the intervention of the DCCA. I have receipts of all my correspondence and can prove that no one from your company ever reached out. Please do no lead other customers astray with your false allegations. I am simply trying to assist others who are having difficulty reaching your company just as I did.

Negative experience: Scam . the refused to refund my 1800 after my trip was cancelled due to covid last fall. I called repeatedly for approx 10 weeks and finally they stopped talking to me. I got my money back when I filled a frad complain with my card holder (visa) use there own policy against them .

Now they dont answer my calls or emails or voicemails and its been over 7 months and i still don tget my refund in which i paid aloooooooot of money on. THE WORDT!!!!! DONT RECCOMEND . THEY JUST STEAL YOUR MONEY!!!
Negative experience: It sounds like we all are getting the run. After a month of no response I called my credit card company and told them that Best of Hawaii is bankrupt. Interesting that only a couple hours later I received a call from B of H saying that I will receive my refund within 25 business days. It is now 3 months later and nothing. I’m going to call the credit card company again.
Negative experience: Before my current experience, I would have given 5 stars. Best of Hawaii has a full refund policy. Because of coronavirus travel restrictions, my groups vacation has been canceled. I have literally called Best of Hawaii over 100 times, left voice messages and sent emails to cancel my reservations of nearly $5000. They have not replied to my emails or returned my calls.
Negative experience: As others have stated in recent reviews if I could give this company a ZERO I would! I have experienced exactly the same as others here. My tour was cancelled in the appropriate time-frame due to COVID-19. Initially the indicated the refund would take about 10 days and then it went to 15 days and then.... never to be heard from again. Phone call upon endless phone call going to their recorded options only to be told that all operators are busy with other customers and to leave a message and your voucher details and they'll get back to you.... They don't. Emails either bounce back or go unanswered. Several of them on their website have been disabled or don't work. Their contact us form on their website is a joke as they ignore that too. 10 weeks later - still no refund and no communications. They get a MINUS 100 for their communications and business ethics from me. asshats.

Negative experience: We had originally scheduled the Kipu ranch ATV tour for March 18th 2020. The tour was cancelled last minute due to COVID-19 social distancing practices which was okay. I called them later to ask for a refund and they said that it would require the maximum 15 business days listed in the contract. Called back after that and they requested that it get extended to 30 business days due to the volume of cancellations. Now that time period over too and I can no longer contact them.
Negative experience: Be careful with this company, Cancelled our tour due to their lack of organisation and it is been 3 months No REFUND. We were told refund can take up to 25 business days when it was their own fault! costed us our precious day and money for nothing. How can you take 3 months to refund our own money? Called hundred times and emailed, no response at all. Such a rip off company, No values at at all.
Negative experience: As many have posted, this company is a scam. I requested a refund on March 20th after my activity was cancelled due to weather and we chose not to reschedule given that we were leaving. On March 27th, I received an email saying due to COVID, refunds would take longer to process, and could take up to 25 days. Understandable, I guess, even though we had requested a refund the week prior. It is now May 1st and the company refuses to respond to my requests for a refund. It has been 2 weeks since I filed a dispute with my bank and they have not responded to that either. This company may be good if everything goes exactly to plan, but their processes and their mismanagement of money is alarming. Total scam.
Fantastic experience: Carlos was awesome! We were booking activities on our own and, evidently booked an ATV adventure on another island! Carlos called to verify that this is what we wanted (we did not!) and he cancelled that booking for us and helped us book one on our island! He was also very personable! Thanks, Carlos!
Fantastic experience: I received a call from Rob, letting me know the Hidden Craters tour was no longer offered on the day we registered for, and he was very helpful and patient in helping me decide on alternate scheduling options.

Fantastic experience: Definitely will be using Best Of Hawaii again. Abraham was my go to guy throughout my entire trip in Hawaii. He would go out of his way to make sure all my needs were met. I had two of my buddies that decided to show up last minute and he was able to add them into my activities without a problem and with a positive attitude, which made my entire experience much smoother and enjoyable.
Fantastic experience: Abraham was amazing - he went above and beyond in helping me book my activity. Initially, he had contacted me when there were no availabilities for a package ATV and zip line. We booked the zip line and to my surprise he contacted me a couple of weeks later to try to coordinate the package! I was super excited and appreciated Abraham’s tenacity and desire to ensure that I had the best time on the island. I will update this review once I do the zip line/ATV tomorrow

Negative experience: We originally decided to go with a company (Best of Hawaii-BOW) to lessen the stress and have expert local advice. I was really impressed with the initial suggestions and how I presumed the agent was on top of making any necessary preparations. However, I was really concerned with both initial tours that we selected were cancelled and we were then forced to choose whatever available as we neared our departure date (still paid for the original more expensive tours without any discount or refund). That said, what we ended up doing was really fun and the first day was planned out beautifully. Sadly our second excursion was not even booked by BOW leaving me to scramble and pay for the tour again. BTW-Roberts Hawai’i telephone agents were extremely rude and not familiarized with pick up locations of their own tours. The tour guide David was spectacular from Kona, I would solely recommend them only for David. I did call BOW but couldn’t reach them at the time until after having to sort it out myself with Roberts Hawaii...BOW also booked the flights back to Oahu too early resulting in another $100 flight change All in all I found the agent in particular from BOW pleasant to deal with although I am left feeling completely taken advantage of. Having asked several times for a clear statement of charges (still not received) and also left with 4 flight change charges and a tearful morning of stress that all could have been avoided should BOW have been more thorough with the necessary preparations. It was also misleading having directly asked how BOW they make revenue - It was clearly stated on the phone that “they only make money through their preferred vendors (not patrons)”; having to have to pay for a tour last minute myself I noticed everything is substantially marked up through them. Anyone travelling to Hawaii for the first time I would recommend: 1. Limiting your time in Waikiki for a more authentic experience. 2. Book your tours yourself - it’s an amazing place, rent a car and have data on your phone...that’s all you need. Doing so, you’ll have a blast and rest assured everything will be taken care of and you’ll be paying a reasonable amount for the right tour.
Negative experience: Apparently ANYTHING you want to do is booked. Book BEFORE you leave home. I was on phone ALL MORNING trying to book something. When I tried to book horse back riding was told I weigh too much. APPARENTLY they have fragile horses cause I c as n ride in the midwest without problems! VERY DISAPPOINTED!

The holiday season is the most popular time in Hawaii, and most travelers are aware of the low available spaces and book ahead.
We try and assist in any way possible, but when tours are sold out there is nothing we can do.
We do offer the largest selection of tours in the state, so in 99% of cases we are able to find something fun to do between all our vendors.
Regarding the horses, yes, they have weight limits, and those are set for the safety of the horses and passengers and generated by the supplieres.
Other than trying our best to accommodate your request, and find you a great activity, there is not much else we can do.

Fantastic experience: We booked the Paradise Cove Luau and had a blast! So much fun and so much food! Everyone was kind and took great care of us. We bowled, threw spears and even got a couple of tattoos. The show was fun and engaging and the venue was beautiful. Five stars for sure!

Fantastic experience: Best Vacation ever. The girls and guys at Best Of Hawaii are the BEST EVER!!! We travel allthe time and have been to the Islands a couple time already but this time we dicided to just wing it. These guys are great. They literally found us everything we wanted to do for the whole 12days we were out there. I recomend booking ahead of time but they are great at finding solutions and the best part was they try to helpout with pricing when possible. Every dollar saved went towrds other activities. I mailed several time to cansel my resertation because our flight has canseled for hurricane. It was made 5th and 6th September on Japanese time. It does mean 5days earlier than the 11th. Terrible company. I canceled my luau tour 2 month ago but they still didn’t refand to my cc yet. I called and mailed and chatting with them but nobody answer me. Negative experience: Worst customer service I have ever received. SO beyond rude, unprofessional and the list goes on. My family comes to Hawaii all the time and never have we had an experience like this. I made the booking online, and immediately received a confirmation email letting me know to arrive 20 min prior to the scheduled time and I was good to go. About 5 min later, I received a call from Abraham letting me know this booking is NOT confirmed, after they charged my credit card for $145 AND sent me a confirmation email. Contradicting.. right?!? I then received this email from Kamardo letting me know I needed to call. Once I called, I was informed the tour is NOT available. I immediately requested a refund and was basically hung up on. Whether is dispute the charge or they refund it, such a waste of my time and $145. STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS. This company is nothing but a scam. Kamardo is actually a funny guy but this company is disgusting. Read through the reviews on google, most are probably fake and everyone is writing about not getting their money back. They lack professionalism, customer service experience, etc. Check yelp for screenshots!
Negative experience: AWFUL customer service!! If you value your money, please DO NOT book anything with this company. I booked an ATV Tour for my fiancé and I on August 7 for August 19. I found out my fiancé had work the 19th and couldn’t make it so I cancelled the tour on August 12. They were understanding and said I should see my payment posted back to my card in 10-14 business days. That was AUGUST 12. It is now September 19 and still no payment from them. During the month and a half of waiting for the payment, I’ve contacted Best of Hawaii SEVERAL times to only get excuses of how the financial department is booked up, I’ll get my payment in 5 more days, 3 more days. One person even told me they just don’t know why I haven’t gotten the payment. I’ve been promised that the financial office will call me back, and of course no call. I had to take it into my own hands and make a claim through my bank and through the Better Business Bureau. Best of Hawaii had the nerve to tell the BBB that my request was processed days after I cancelled but it was delayed due to Hurricane Lane. (Which is just another excuse because Hurricane Lane was over a week after I cancelled). They then told the BBB I would have my money back in my account after 72 hours. It’s over 72 hours. Do you think the money is back on my account? Of course not!! Luckily I have a great bank that is handling this. I am truly astonished by this business. I paid over $300 for a tour and then was never reimbursed. Did “Best” of Hawaii think I was just going to forget about it and drop it?! Please be aware of this company. I don’t know how the actual tour experience is since we cancelled but I will never know since I will NEVER book anything with this unprofessional company ever again....
Negative experience: We booked a tour of the big island with Blue Hawaiian Helicopter tours online and they charged us for it. They called back and said they would work to make that fit in. Next day. "still working on it". Next day, "still working on it". The day before we were supposed to go, we got no call. I called and they told us at that point they couldn't do it. I told them they needed to credit my card and was told they would. 2 weeks later, still no refund. Had to file a dispute with my CC company to get my money back.
Negative experience: Terrible service. Terrible experience. Firstly they took our money straight away before even confirming whether or not the tour was available. Told us the morning of that they did not have a spot for my partner and I. After countless times of trying to find us a tour, we requested a refund. Until then they were very responsive. It will almost be a month and we are yet to receive our money back and have sent countless emails and no one has bothered to reply to us. Worst experience ever. Don’t trust them.

Negative experience: I was told I was gonna receive a refund for an activity they could not accommodate me due to it being booked. I was told it was going to take 15 days. It has been over 15 days and no form of communication was made to me regarding this after multiple emails.
